Rats and Rainbows Small Animal Rescue We are a private non funded rat and small animal rescue, we work with sick, injured, and difficult to handle animals.

We also specialise in Lorikeets, and hand raising other injured pest species. We provide boarding for your rattos if you're planning a holiday. prices start at $15 per week

This includes all food, water, play time, enrichment, treats, snacks, as well as regular cage cleaning. We are happy to administer any medications you provide.

Number 3. The only one from Ares’ last litter to look like him, so he got the mythological name Deimos! I love the butt fluff, so cute. He is so much more outgoing than dad! A real wriggler. We miss you Ares!

Sometimes the rescued do not want to be rescued! This little little fellow was starting to shut down from being cold, but now he is on a heat mat and protesting fiercely. Sometimes we have to make the decision for them. The decisions today are:

1 you can be cold and dead or
2 warm and angry.

Our latest intake, again we are slack with the rainbow bit of our name and corresponding posting. They are stuffing themselves with my homemade formula! They are under heat still as the weather has not been right to put them out yet! So being in the shower does cause problems, it amplifies the noise - a lot, and sharing the shower with the family!

One of Ares’ last ever litters, mum Lizabetta with nudie boy Sarsaparilla! More photos to come of the others in the near future! The only agouti baby, this mini photoshoot took some time as both of them are very zippy and in the end we had to hold them!
