Rats and Rainbows Small Animal Rescue We are a private non funded rat and small animal rescue, we work with sick, injured, and difficult to handle animals.

We also specialise in Lorikeets, and hand raising other injured pest species. We provide boarding for your rattos if you're planning a holiday. prices start at $15 per week

This includes all food, water, play time, enrichment, treats, snacks, as well as regular cage cleaning. We are happy to administer any medications you provide.

Meet our newest handsome man! He is a replacement for poor Herbie who died after having a thyroid operation. We still remember Herbie and have not forgotten him but as life goes on meet Gizmo. He will be our main guinea pig ambassador in the future. He’s still a bit nervous because he’s only been here a day or two but he is just gorgeous! When we have gotten to know each other a bit better I can do a dating pet profile!

Hi I’m Valentino and I was born in Whyalla in South Australia! I am 2 yrs old and look like a tortoise shell cat! I travelled a long way to Perth. I love going for walks and I am learning how to sit in a pet pram and be pushed! This is me in my pram. I also wear a harness so I can walk at the park or on the foot path! I have been to the beach too. I eat my veggies and greens and sometimes a bit of toast. Though I do like red apples the best!

Hi! I’m Marty.

I like going to the park and I have a pink pram. I also wear a harness and like having a bit of a run at the park. I also have a pet Guinea Pig called Rusty, he comes with me everywhere. He is hiding in the picture with me! Try find him! I like jumping up on things and being active. I do chew things when I’m bored, (like mail!) so I like to be out. I love carrots and sweet potato leaves and bamboo leaves.

We are so excited to announce that we are licensed and registered as a petting zoo! Very soon we will be able to start advertising and taking bookings after a few more paperwork things have been done.

We will be doing:

‘Pat a Rat’ with painting!
‘Pat a Bunny’ with painting!
‘Pat a Guinea Pig’ with painting!

Participants must be 3yrs and over and can paint or have a tea party! No? How about doing their hair? Drawing or playing dolls or even playing ball!

We are heading into baby season again.

This is the millionth reminder VETS ARE NOT LORIKEET FRIENDS. The legislation in place means wild or found keets are euthanised, just the same as wild mice and rats.

We are here to save lives, not sign death sentences.

These are a PEST and are treated as such. There is so much information available at our fingertips, resources, carers, rescues etc

These are in place to give these birds a chance, as they can adapt and make fabulous life companions.

We have a beautiful white male quail that is on his own. He crows all day and all night and we can’t seem to make him comfortable. He has other birds with him but he just ignores them. I think he really needs to be with other quails! Because he is older and white he won’t be any good for breeding but good for gardening!

PET ONE CAGES For those of you having family disputes about who left the cage open, I found out who it was in our house, sorry Christopher! I love you ###
