Hey everyone just making a post to let you all know that I'm taking a step back from breeding rats for a while. I'm sure in the future ill start up again just for now I need bit of a break.
In the span of 4 years ive lots so many rats and it really does take a toll.
Looking forward to see what the future holds.

Belair has successfully delivered her 1st litter of 12 babies! On Tuesday afternoon I didn't post till now as she didn't seem interested in looking after the babies at all the following morning no babies had milk bands and where cold.
But I put her cage and babies in a dark and quiet room that seemed to do the trick all babies and mumma are now doing well.
I will be keeping a boy and girl so 10 will be available from the 19th of March❤

This is for anyone thats curious, here is a little bit of info on the difference between Male and Female rats.

MALES: Cuddley and more affectionate, Very chill and mellow, they are bigger then females and the worst part till last is that they mark their territory just like dogs so they can be a bit smelly but neutering can possibly help.

FEMALES: Very Independent, Adventurous can be cuddley but usually not overly, They are smaller then males, and females are more likely to develop tumour but spaying might help.

In saying all this though all rats have different personalities this is just from my experience, my males are all over me wanting attention as soon as I open their cage. The girls on the other hands they run straight out the cage and go explore they don't bother to give me the slightest bit if attention unless I have snacks 😂

in the time i've been breeding ive never actually witnessed the birth of any its always been while im asleep so glad I got to see at least one come into the world. I've left her be now as i dont want to stress her out im soo excited though.
Will do a count in the morning when I make them all breakfast!

Starting parings next month now that the weathers getting a bit warmer.
Will have 2 litters!
Hooded Rex babies and hopefully Hooded or Blue Selkirks.

Soo excited to see what im going to get its always worth the wait.

I have no babies at the moment and probably wont have any till towards the end of the year, I don't like to breed during the colder the months.
But when I do the next lot ill post an update there will be 2 litters again.
Excited to start my patchwork line in an understatement though. ❤❤

Woke up this morning to another rat dead 😭

RIP Chevelle I rescued you when you where pregnant by people who said you had a tumor, it was a whole new experience for me as I had never owned female rats before let alone a pregnant one, you where the best mother and also gave me 2 more beautiful boys Nomad and Monaro i'll definitely miss you 💔

Can just start telling genders of the rats and my top 2 picks are both girls just my luck 😂
Now I guess ill just wait and see whats left after everyone has had their picks unless I keep a boy and a girl but I already have 9 rats not including babies obviously.
Arghhhh decisions!
Ill post genders next week when I am 100% sure so there is no mistakes.

Babies will be ready to go from the 6th of May 🥰
I should know genders within 2 to 3 weeks and then ill be in contact with everyone that has enquired.
I honestly can't believe how quick these babies have grown and their eyes should be opening by the weekend.

So over people questioning my page!
Yes I'm a fairly new breeder but everyone has to start somewhere and so far I've not had any bad reviews or complains about my babies tempraments and or complaints of being sick.
All my lines of babies apart from the first litter I know all the history and back ground of my rats as my first litter was from a rescue rat that I didn't know anything about that history obviously.
My current breeding rats are from reputable breeders and have given me full history.

Last night I was checking on Onix and her babies and could only find 8 babies and started to panic i found the 9th and it was so cold also faint milk band I popped it back in the little pile of beans.
Got up at 5am for work and checked straight away and again the same little one of to the side cold and no milk band at all.
Hoping for the best I made the decision to take the little one out and add her to Malibus pile of babies, I honestly didn't know what to expect or what I'd come home too but I am soo happy to say that Malibu has accepted it and its like a whole new little bean and is very active.
I'm so darn happy 🥰

Onyx has had 9 babies today!
Sometime between 6am and 1pm.
Shes feeding all her babies and is super protective of them 🥰

Malibu is still pregnant! Maybe babies tonight or tomorrow either way I cant wait 🥰
