Hello 👋 It’s been a while since I posted but that’s because there have been a lot of things going! Between crazy young children, amazing special dogs, general family chaos and continuing to learn and work about all things dogs, time is not always of the essence….. I promise though you’ll be seeing and hearing more from me, For Paws and a little something simple but close to my heart that I’ve been working away at! 🐾

We caught up with Porter, who was having a tough time with some situations. This was resulting in excessive barking at noises, when unsure of something. As well as some signs of aggression towards other dogs and people. We implemented a plan to help Porter and his people manage confronting situations and build a different emotional response.

Our behaviour packagers are designed to give you the best chance to work on your behavioural training goals, with consistent check in points. Like, Lily who we helped implement a plan for fear related issues, resource guarding and some signs of aggression.

We met Oscar for one of our behaviour packages. We got to work on a plan to address barking at passes-by and the TV, guarding toys from other dogs as well as separation related issues.

Ziggy has a few comfort spots around the house. His crate, the foot of the bed, the sand in the back yard. And every now and then this chair is his spot and we know he needs a bit of space to chill.

🐾 Evie, Ziggy and I were casually walking along, when a dog came out of its house about 15m ahead of us 🐾 For context we were on a pathway next to a main road 🐾 I knew that staying on the path would be too much for them, a combination of exciting and overwhelming, so we opted to cross the road 🐾 I didn’t have to force the dogs to do this, they both saw the dog when I did and when I said “this way” they happily followed me 🐾 A treat scatter of small cubes of cheese, meant they got to eat yummy food while occasionally looking up to watch the dog walk by, stopping to sniff everywhere they had been 🐾 We then crossed back to where we originally were and everyone was happy 🐾Best bit was how stoked Evie and Ziggy were with the whole scenario Training doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated, slow things down, make calm reinforcing and create better associations 🙌 #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainer #dogbehaviour #dogworld #doglife #dogsofinstagram #dogsofinsta #dogsofinstaworld #dogsofperth #dogsofaustralia #perthdogs #doggo #forpaws

Ziggy has always struggled with the feeling of a harness due to his various pain issues! Rather than trick him, coerce him or force him we gave him the choice to opt in and built positive associations for him. The fact that he is now able to say ‘Yes’ to his harness is the most amazing thing 🐾🐾
