Dogs have remarkable abilities to sense various aspects of human behaviour and physiology. Here are three amazing things they can detect:

1. Emotional State: Dogs are highly attuned to human emotions and can often sense when their owners are feeling sad, anxious, or stressed.
2. Health Conditions: Dogs possess an incredible sense of smell, which allows them to detect subtle changes in human body chemistry. They can sniff out certain health conditions, including hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in people with diabetes, certain types of cancer, and even impending seizures.
3. Intentions and Trustworthiness: Dogs are adept at reading human body language and can often sense a person's intentions. They can pick up on cues such as posture, facial expressions, and vocal tone to gauge whether someone is friendly, trustworthy, or potentially threatening.

Overall, dogs' remarkable sensitivity to human emotions, health, and intentions underscores the unique bond between humans and their canine companions.

Caring for a senior pet marks a significant stage in every pet parent’s journey. As our furry companions grow older, they change, and their needs evolve too.

🥣 Food & Water: Monitor their eating and drinking and mention any changes to eating habits or weight to our vets as there could be an underlying issue.
🐕 Exercise: Give them regular, gentle exercise and go at your pet’s pace.
😴 Sleeping: Aging cats tend to sleep more. Provide cosy bedding in warm, in a quiet draft-free spot and monitor any changes in sleeping patterns.
🩺 Regular Check-ups: Health exams, including dental checks, are particularly important for senior pets as they are more prone to illness and ailments (every six months is ideal).

If you have any concerns about your senior dog, please book your pet in for an appointment. Our vets can provide advice and treatments to help your dog enjoy their twilight years with comfort and joy. 🐾

🐾✨ Is your furry friend radiating good health? Here are some signs to look out for! 🌈🐶

• Shiny Coat: A lustrous, smooth coat is a paw-some indicator of your dog's well-being.
• Bright Eyes: Sparkling, clear eyes show vitality. If your pup's eyes are free from discharge and bright, it's a great sign!
• Energetic Behaviour: A playful and active dog is a happy one! If your fur baby is full of energy, it's a positive indication of their overall health.
• Healthy Appetite: A hearty appetite is a sign of a content pooch. If they're enjoying their meals and maintaining a healthy weight, it's a good indicator of well-being.
• Regular Bathroom Habits: Consistent and normal bathroom habits are key. If your dog's routine is steady, it suggests a healthy digestive system.

Remember, it's crucial to stay proactive about your pet's health! 🏥✅ Book a consultation with one of our skilled vets to ensure your beloved pet is thriving in every way.

Listen up! Your pet's ears deserve some TLC too. 🐶😺👂

Many pets are prone to ear infections, but they are seen more commonly in dogs. Signs of ear disease include scratching/ rubbings at their ears, a foul odour or discharge as well as swelling and redness.

Luckily, most ear infections are easily treatable but if left they can result in serious damage. It’s always best to have ear problems seen by us so we can properly diagnose the problem and effectively treat it. 🩺

A closer look can make all the difference.

Check for strange lumps and bumps, abnormal odours, non-healing wounds, changes in appetite and weight loss, difficulty breathing, lethargy & decreased energy, changes in bathroom habits, and evidence of pain as they can be warning signs of cancer in pets.

Detecting these signs can lead to timely intervention and better outcomes for our furry companions..🐾❤️

Dive into a pet-safe summer! 🐾☀️ Follow these pool safety tips to keep your furry friends cool and secure:

🏊‍♂️ Teach them to swim: Introduce your pets to water gradually and ensure they can confidently paddle.

🚫 Supervision is key: Always watch when your pets are around the pool. Accidents can happen fast!

🐾 Provide an exit strategy: Make sure pets can easily exit the pool, like a pet-friendly ramp.

🧼 Rinse off after a swim: Chlorine and pool chemicals can irritate their skin, so a quick rinse is a must.

🚧 Secure pool area: Use a pet-proof fence or gate to restrict access when you're not around.

Enjoy a splashing good time with your furry pals! 🌊🐕
