This is Olly! Isn’t he so adorable 💙
Being a brachycephalic breed, Olly is unfortunately prone to plaque and calculus buildup on his teeth.
To keep on top of his dental health he receives a full dental clean at Melville Animal Hospital every year.

You know there’s a litter of puppies booked in when the nurses start disappearing and there’s a lot of squeaky voices coming from one consult room 🤣

We had the absolute PLEASURE of vaccinating these beautiful puppies a few weeks ago 🥹 definitely one of the perks of the job 😜🐶

A domestic long hair feline tabby cat was brought to us today. Sadly deceased on arrival 😢. No microchip. Approximately 1-2years old.
He is a non-sterilised male and was found in the Melville area.

Meet Stormy!
He visited Melville Animal Hospital for a dental procedure and is now loving his healthy clean teeth.

Did you know that adults dogs have 42 teeth! In comparison most people have 32 🦷

Some signs of periodontal disease in dogs include swollen or bleeding gums, plaque, bad breath, change in appetite (especially when they start to avoid hard food) and excessive drooling.

Did you know Macadamias can be toxic to dogs?! It’s not a very commonly known toxin but lucky for Archie- his Mum was on the ball!

The activated charcoal liquid that is sometimes given after ingestion can be very messy, especially with an unwilling participant 🥴

Luckily for us, Archie was an absolute gentlemen and gently ate his serving mixed with some prime100, leaving only this perfect black circle around his mouth 🤣 it was too cute not to share !

Our friends at The Cat Haven are desperate for help - especially for the shy kitties that may be overlooked by the more confident cats in the shelter 🥺

If you’re unable to foster or adopt - donations are welcome! Food, cat litter, towels and blankets are needed (see previous posts for specific details😉)

We have so many kitties here at Cat Haven waiting week in and week out for their chance at a furever home. 🥺 Our adoption numbers have been slower than usual the last two weeks and we are still seeing the regular amount of cats coming in. Please, if you know anyone looking to adopt, share this post with them.

Do you have space in your home for a kitty that would love a nice warm couch, knee or bed to call their own. Our Shy July promo is still running all through July with adoptions only being $31 for shy cats to help them instead of being overlooked by the more confident cats in the shelter.

Adoptions are open 10am-4pm weekends and 10am-5:45pm weekdays. ❤️
