Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue Inc. is located in Perth, Western Australia. All of our rescued dogs are in foster homes.

We are a volunteer-run rescue group, who rescue, rehabilitate, rehome & advocate for staffy & bull breeds. is entirely volunteer run rescue organisation which is dedicated to improving the image of staffy and bully type breeds and educating the public about what wonderful family companions they can be with responsible pet ownership. SABBR take in dogs when and where we can from the pound system, p

rivate surrenders and vets and care for them until suitable permanent homes can be found, we are a no kill rescue group. We fund all rescues ourselves as a non profit rescue organisation. All dogs adopted direct through SABBR will be wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, sterilised, and vet checked by one of the wonderful veterinary clinics we work with. We are also assisted by some of Perth's top behavioural trainers when required and pay at our cost for them to assist our dogs and carers. Here at Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue we believe it is highly important that the public are educated about the breed of dog they are adopting and understand the needs of the breed of dog. We do not support Breed Specific Legislation or backyard breeding. Our dogs are adopted out to companion homes only. Bull breeds are loving people orientated dogs and are not suitable for homes seeking a guard dog. One of our aims is to dispel any aggressive tendency myths associated with these breeds and instead to promote them as family companions. Volunteers interested in these breeds are more than welcome to contact us if they wish to help in any way. Whether it be with transport, paperwork, admin, fundraising, donations of old blankets / towels, collars, leads, food, wormers, flea treatments, toys etc or any other small way you may think of, all assistance is appreciated. We have no kennel facilities of our own and rely on foster homes to house the majority of our dogs. We do however pay for private kennels at our cost to house urgent dogs temporarily. We pride ourselves on being very supportive of our adopters and volunteers and matching dogs appropriately to for ever homes.

For anyone who has never lived with a reactive dog, it can be hard to envision just how stressful outings are!

Many reactive dog owners get very stressed themselves ... and inappropriate and inconsiderate responses of others unfortunately make their walks worse.

Check out our little messy meatball, Ragu, who's not your average pasta sauce but a delightful 8-week-old Bull Arab blend! This pupper promises to fill your days with wagging tails and endless cuddles 🥰.

Ragu is all geared up to be best buds with tiny humans, furry friends, and even those feisty felines 😻. As he's a young babe, he'll need a bit of time to settle in, but once he's in the groove, working pawrents will be a-okay 👌🏽.

Training, puppy classes, and lots of social outings are a must, along with a ton of patience! Ragu is looking for committed hoomans to show him the ropes, even if chewed shoes, shredded socks, and the occasional oopsie are part of the puppy package, right?! 😉

‘Quill you adopt me please?’ 🥹

Hoping someone’s ready to put their name tag on her collar, is our timid princess Quill. Only 4months young, agile Amstaff X hound blend Quill is quite certain life can get better than the pound.

Quill would be a great fit for your other dogs, cats and children of all ages. Whilst she can come across timid, we know there’s a little firecracker waiting to be lit up in there 💥 If Quill had a doggy pal at home, FT workers would be ok.

Finessing her basic skills, Quill will need ongoing commitment to her training. She’s a fan of human attention and is still working out how to play with toys 💗 Super sweet, respectful and with a face that will infact melt butter, Quill is everything you could want.

Saturday training tip💡

Sit...sit...sitttt....SIT ! Give your dog some time to process !⌚
You may not even know you do this...but your dog knows.

Two issues here.
Cue nagging (repeating cues again and again) and not letting your dog process what you have asked or require.

Give your dog some time to process, wait 3 - 4 seconds (but you do need to make sure your dog actually knows what they are being asked to do) ... slow down and stop cue nagging (repeating cues again and again).

When you can change this habit (and it can be a really hard habit to break for us)....watch what happens.
