Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue Inc. Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue Inc. is located in Perth, Western Australia. All of our rescued dogs are in foster homes.

We are a volunteer-run rescue group, who rescue, rehabilitate, rehome & advocate for staffy & bull breeds. is entirely volunteer run rescue organisation which is dedicated to improving the image of staffy and bully type breeds and educating the public about what wonderful family companions they can be with responsible pet ownership. SABBR take in dogs when and where we can from the pound system, p

rivate surrenders and vets and care for them until suitable permanent homes can be found, we are a no kill rescue group. We fund all rescues ourselves as a non profit rescue organisation. All dogs adopted direct through SABBR will be wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, sterilised, and vet checked by one of the wonderful veterinary clinics we work with. We are also assisted by some of Perth's top behavioural trainers when required and pay at our cost for them to assist our dogs and carers. Here at Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue we believe it is highly important that the public are educated about the breed of dog they are adopting and understand the needs of the breed of dog. We do not support Breed Specific Legislation or backyard breeding. Our dogs are adopted out to companion homes only. Bull breeds are loving people orientated dogs and are not suitable for homes seeking a guard dog. One of our aims is to dispel any aggressive tendency myths associated with these breeds and instead to promote them as family companions. Volunteers interested in these breeds are more than welcome to contact us if they wish to help in any way. Whether it be with transport, paperwork, admin, fundraising, donations of old blankets / towels, collars, leads, food, wormers, flea treatments, toys etc or any other small way you may think of, all assistance is appreciated. We have no kennel facilities of our own and rely on foster homes to house the majority of our dogs. We do however pay for private kennels at our cost to house urgent dogs temporarily. We pride ourselves on being very supportive of our adopters and volunteers and matching dogs appropriately to for ever homes.

More Pound Pups 💔

This litter of 7 puppies was at the pound with their mother, but tragically, the 'owners' took the mother and left her babies behind. These little ones are just 5 weeks old—far too young to be separated from their mother.

The first eight weeks of a puppy's life are crucial for learning vital social and behavioral skills, and these can only be taught by their mother. Being removed too early can have lasting effects on their development.

DESEX YOUR PETS! Yes, we’re shouting it loud and clear—there is no excuse for unsterilised pets. Animal rescues are overwhelmed, pounds are overcrowded, and healthy, adoptable pets are being euthanised every day. 😔

Born with a shorter rear leg and a partially formed paw, Fly doesn’t let anything slow him down! He’s full of energy, loves dogs, cats (with a nice intro), and kids, and is perfect for an active household. With some settling in time, he can also adapt to a full-time working family.

Fly’s nailing basic commands and will need a bit more training and leash practice, but he’s ready to bring endless love and joy to your home.

Rambo! 5-years-young, our handsome Amstaff can’t wait to shower your family with endless love! He’s the true definition of ‘man’s best friend,’ adoring humans of all ages with his heart. ♥️

Rambo would thrive in a home with a calm, mature female dog but isn’t a fan of the chaos at dog parks. He’s also unfazed by birds, chickens, or full-time workers, making him a low-maintenance, adaptable family companion. 👌🏽

While he loves his family cuddles, Rambo enjoys the occasional leisurely stroll around the block. Due to arthritis in his rear leg, he prefers gentle walks and great supplements to keep him feeling his best.🥰

The 'B' Litter. 6 Precious Lives.

Emaciated. Underweight. Malnourished.

These 6 pups have brought our team to tears. This rescue is more than just another case; it’s a heartbreaking reminder of the cruelty of backyard breeding. 💔

Bubba, Bayou, Billy-Bob, Billie-Mae, Buck and Bertha are all safe in foster care. At just 15 weeks old, Bertha, is already facing a long road ahead. She’s been diagnosed with a severe hip issue, likely caused by neglect and poor nutrition.

Her femoral head never developed properly, and she’ll need expensive surgery with the specialists at River Gum Vets, followed by 14 weeks of rehab.

These pups are the third litter for their mother, who’s only 3 years old. We can only imagine the toll it’s taken on her, litter after litter, with no reprieve. Sadly, we haven’t been able to rescue her, but we have worked to have her spayed, so she won’t be forced into another pregnancy.

This is the reality of backyard breeding. It must stop. The cycle of cruelty needs to end and these animals need to heal.

December recap

The festive season has truly swept us away! While enjoying ‘some’ down time and celebrating our personal festivities, we still managed to save a significant number of dogs. 🐶

Last December, we welcomed 18 new dogs into SABBR: Brady, Cricket, Dante, Enya, Fly, Grace, Kashi, King, Kip, Pablo, Pierre, Riella, Shadey, Saint, Sarge, Santa, Vader, and Vice. Unfortunately, our dear Doja had to return. 😔

This brings our total for 2024 to an incredible 303 dogs saved—can you believe it?! This is a significant milestone for SABBR, especially considering our previous record was 214, and we rescued 201 last year!

We wrapped up the year with 33 adoptions in December alone, including numerous puppies and senior dogs enjoying their first Christmas with loving families. That’s what it’s all about! 🥰

However, we faced some unusually high veterinary bills last month. Our pup V***n tragically lost her leg, Grace required surgery to treat an infected leg due to abuse, Nakoa had two new ear canals drilled to address her issues, Brady battled Giardia, and our Christmas Day rescue, Santa, needed a plate for his broken elbow to keep him on all fours.

These vet expenses highlighted the importance of our fundraising events, and we are incredibly thankful for our dedicated volunteers who helped raise awareness and funds for SABBR. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave up their Boxing Day to run the sausage sizzle, and an extra shout-out to those who participated in our Pet Fresh/PetO weekend, the summer car wash, and Larkhill markets. You’re all angels! 😇😍

As we step into 2025, we’ve already encountered a start we hoped to avoid—three young pups in our care within just a few days. This is why your support is more vital than ever, whether it’s assisting with fence checks, transporting dogs, providing food, or volunteering at our events. Every contribution matters, every like, share and comment on posts helps and we can’t thank our volunteers and supporters enough. ♥️

Here's to expanding our efforts and improving our impact, with the hope of needing to save fewer dogs (though we always wish for fewer animals in need!).

Karli is a true people lover, especially with those aged eight and up, but she prefers to be the only dog in the household. 7 years young, she thrives as the sole canine companion and doesn’t feel the need for anyone else. 😉

Karli is perfectly content with full-time workers and looks forward to her daily evening walks, where she’s calm and well-behaved on the leash. She’s also quick to pick up basic commands and loves to please ⭐️.

This gentle girl enjoys a good back scratch, relaxing on the couch for some quiet time, and she’s a big fan of soft toys, though she tends to dismantle them quickly. 🤣
