It's that time of the year again where the Ticks are out in great numbers. City of Gosnells have arranged for the grounds to be sprayed on Monday (13th). They have advised to keep off grounds until Wednesday (15th) to allow the spray to work .

The lovely people at the CoG are coming to the grounds on Thursday to spray for ticks. We are recommending that people not use the grounds for the period from the 22nd-29th of December to ensure horses don't accidently consume the poison and to allow the spray to work optimally.

There has been a couple incidents over the last couple of months that have been brought to our attention, so we would just like to remind everyone of some of the rules. These rules have been established to ensure the safety of riders and that the grounds are maintained to a high standard.
Firstly, it is really important that dogs are not permitted on the Karinya grounds. This is a City of Gosnells rule, and as such the owners of dogs that are brought to the ground can be fined by the council. More than this, dogs are not permitted on the grounds as not all horses are comfortable with dogs (regardless of how friendly or well behaved they are). Any accidents that occur as a result of dog may result in the owner being liable. Bring a dog to the grounds is also disrespectful of other members who have beautiful and well behaved dogs, but choose to keep them at home as per the Karinya rules.
It is the responsibility of all members to look after the grounds, including keeping them neat and tidy. This includes not lunging in any of the arenas. This decision was made to protect the longevity of the arenas. Please ensure that all manure is scattered and the yards and riding areas are cleaned after use.
Please do not ride on the grounds when other people have the grounds booked. If you are unsure whether the grounds are in use or booked, please check with Karinya Committee.
If you do use the grounds when they are free, please ensure you follow your clubs gear checking guidelines
(use of helmets, boots, etc).
Additionally, outside coaching is not permitted at Karinya.
Could you please ensure that you comply with the rules for the benefit of all users.

Hey lovely people! Just a couple of reminders for our user groups and visitors :)
- Please no dogs on the grounds
- Please clean up after yourself and your horse (scatter that p**p!)
- No lunging in the arenas
- No outside instruction is allowed outside of rallies/event on the grounds
- Equipment/gear rules apply out of hours - don't forget your helmet, boots etc.
- You need to be a member of one of the user clubs to use the grounds outside of rallies/events
We hate being the fun police, so please follow the rules.

Hey All! Erin Kaesehagen is coming down to Orange Grove tomorrow afternoon at 5pm to run her Rider Fitness Program. All welcome (pony clubers, adult riders, parents, family!). Cost is $5. Please bring a fitball and a yoga mat if you have one. Hope to see you there!

Tetrathlon training is continuing on the grounds on a Tuesday afternoon at 5pm. Contact Erin Kelty if you would like to come along.
Need some motivation to get fit to ride? Why not try tetrathlon? Tetrathlon involves running, swimming, laser pistol shooting and jumping (SJ/XC). You definitely don't have to be an amazing athlete! Join OGHPC's training and give it a go!

Tetrathlon training is starting up next week and we are just so excited about the 2018 season. We have some new special guests who will be helping out with training, including the wonderful Erin Kaesehagen from the Rider Fitness Program and superstar Modern Penthathlete Nikita Mawhirt. We also have a new laser pistol and precision target from Beaton Fi****ms on its way for shooting practice.
Running and shooting training will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 5pm at Karinya Equestrian Park (the pony club grounds). Cost is $5.
Swimming will be held on Thursday at 6pm at Cannington Leisureplex (starting on the 4th). Entry is about $6.
We are also attending Pioneer parkrun on a Saturday morning at 8am for a 5km timed run/walk.
Cross-country training will be held towards the end of January.
Member of Orange Grove Adult Riders Club, other local pony clubs, friends and family are welcome to join in our training. Just let us know if you are coming.
The first tetrathlon is being held in Dryandra (Narrogin) on the 17th/18th of February.

But if you are not a GR&PC member don't feel left out, they are holding a hacking, show jumping and dressage competition on Sunday that is open to all! Entries are open until Friday on nominate.

However the grounds will be open from 9 am for Orange Grove Horse & Pony Club and Orange Grove Adult Riders Club members to come down and use the grounds. Show jumps will be set up in the grass arena so you can still get your SJ fix.
