Just a quick video showing why I never use or recommend a slicker brush for cat grooming. Not only can it damage the coat it's also not very effective as it doesn't get down to the skin. More often than not there are still knots and undercoat clumping underneath the lovely brushed top coat, as demonstrated in this video.
One side was groomed using a comb and the other a slicker brush. The side I used the comb beforehand can easily be combed through whereas the side I used the slicker brush still has knots and lots of undercoat underneath preventing the comb from gliding through the coat easily.
I recommend a fine toothed comb to prevent matting and reduce shedding inbetween regular grooming appointments. πΊ
Sweet man Finn felt so much better after his bath he couldn't help headbutting, purring and kneading while being blow dried. π»
This 8 month old ragdoll doll kitten had a clip today. He was very nervous of the clippers, so I spent some time getting him used to the sound and feel before actually clipping him.
Unfortunately he was still not a fan of the clippers, so for future grooms I've suggested a bath and brushout to reduce shedding and avoid matting.
