💙 Hulk's Week Retreat 💙

Our long term volunteer Lynda has taken Hulk home for a week to have a lovely break from kennels! Lynda say's Hulk has been such a good boy, he definitely deserves a loving home and hasn’t put a paw wrong!

10 year old Hulk is a Rottweiler x Bull Arab mix looking for a peaceful home, he can be reserved on first approach but with soon warms up to people who are polite with his space. Hulk walks beautifully on lead and with a good settling in period, is suitable for full time work hours too.

The happiest time of the week! We are pleased to say we had 31 wonderful adoptions for the first week of November. 2 long term pooches were adopted, Brockie who waited 280 days and Neptune 415 days which is always extra special!! 💙

👏 🌟 THANK YOU EVERYONE!! 🌟👏

Last Friday we asked for donations of puppy food, we were completely overwhelmed by the incredible response we received, not only puppy food but toys, treats and monetary donations. So much that you've been able to help us save Rumour's life.

Rumour is a 4 month old Belgian Malinois, she was originally purchased by a family who thought this would be the best breed for a family with young children. An incident happened in the home which resulted in Rumour fracturing her tibia, she was then taken to the vet to be euthanised 💔

Thankfully the vet team didn't let that happen. We have taken Rumour into our care and the even better news is, with all your help we are able to cover the cost of surgery to fix her leg this week.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person for your support. This is where your donations go 💙

As we do each year, we're proudly wearing our poppies. Wearing a purple poppy alongside the traditional red poppy symbolises the remembrance of animals that also died during conflict. May they never be forgotten.

Introducing Ficus 💛🌼

This sensitive little sweet heart came down from a regional pound recently.

She is a 1 year old Staffy mix who is looking for people who can help her to build confidence and provide her with the love and care she deserves. A doggy brother is a must for Ficus, she feels SO much more comfortable with a dog pal around 🐶

We are looking for a quiet, child free home where Ficus can be given the time to adjust and flourish into the affectionate and silly puppy we know she has the potential to be 🐾

Try saying no to that face! 😝

Big, beautiful Benzo is a 1 year old Large Mixed Breed! It's obvious this boy has not had the best start to life and sadly a lack of exposure to the outside world has him feeling extra sensitive at the moment.

Through no fault of his own but not getting the opportunities to experience life outside of his backyard means he can be frightened by new people, loud noises and fast movements. Everything feels new for Benzo. A household with experienced, patient and understanding owners is a must to set this good boy up for success.

He has such a sweet nature and we believe in the right home, his confidence will grow and this boy will flourish into the silly, happy puppy he truly is! Training is a must for him and opportunities to make new dog friends so he can play and learn from them 🐶🐾

He came into our care with his sister Baba and can be rehomed together or separately 💙

Hello I'm Wylie! 🐾

A 7 month old Kelpie ready to bounce out of the kennels into somewhere with loads of space for me to zoom!

If I'm going to stay as a city slicker, I'd love to do some form of group classes or activities like herding, sniff school or agility! I like the company of other dogs and could live with another friendly dog 🐶

At the moment I'm feeling a bit anxious, quiet hikes and nature walks away from the busy roads would be best. A home experienced with young working breeds like me would be great, I am quite sensitive so need plenty of positive reinforcement 🥰

Saxon the 9 year old German Shepherd! 🐾

He may be considered a senior boy but Saxon still has plenty of playful energy, strength and determination! Saxon is looking for an experienced family to spoil him and give him all the love and attention he has been lacking.

His family will need to be home with him initially to help him settle, however after a settling in period he may be able to cope with being alone for full time hours. He is finding kennel life quite stressful so he needs a good decompression period!

Other dogs don't seem to phase Saxon, he'd prefer to play with the ball with his humans than interact with other dogs 🐕 He is a gorgeous, clever boy who is ready for a relaxing but fun retirement home!

❤️🥰STAFF AND VOLLIE FAVOURITE 🥰❤️

Cali is a beautiful, 4.5 year old Staffy X Rotti, who is one of our long term residents.

The perfect home for Cali would be a calm and quiet household for her, with little traffic and adults only. Cali can be a unsure of new people at first but once she trusts you, the transformation is amazing. She is loving, affectionate, playful and a total cuddle bug!

Cali has been working with our trainers and experienced volunteers here at the Refuge, she has shown huge amounts of progress but she will need an experienced owner, especially after spending so long in the kennel environment.

Cali has had lots of playmates here at the Refuge, her bestie Steve and her have even been on a weekend away together with our volunteers!

Our festive fundraiser, Santa Paws is quickly approaching! We are once again on the hunt for baked goods to sell at our mini market on Sunday the 24th November at the Refuge!
