🪻THISTLE🪻

This 5 month old medium mixed breed puppy girl is looking for her fresh start after being found wandering. This super sweet pup is excitable and smart and will benefit from an active lifestyle where she can use that super smart brain of hers! 🧠💖

This girl is super smart and food motivated and has so much potential. As she is still a pup, her new family should be home more often than not and able to commit to her ongoing training and socialisation. Thistle can be bouncy and is best suited to living with kids (10+). 🥰

Thistle is currently on foster with another dog and is having an absolute blast. This girl loves making doggy friends but can be a silly, boisterous pup. She would absolutely love to go home with a doggy brother or have lots of playdates with other dogs if she goes home as a solo dog. 🐶🐾

There HAS to be a home out there for Miss Marvel!

Our soccer loving, toy destroying, snuggle buddy, strong as a horse, queen of the trainers office, 4 year old American Staffy, the Marvellous Marvel ✨

You've probably seen this gorgeous face before! Marvel is one of our long term residents and sadly just passed 3 years at the Refuge. Marvel is currently enjoying an extended break in foster care and has received wonderful foster feedback.

Her foster family said:
"Marvel even with all her quirks outside of the home, she is the most loveable, affectionate and well-mannered dog inside the home. Marvel was not destructive, didn't chew any of our belongings or furniture. Whilst someone is home, Marvel likes to be close by but is also happy to chill in her bed or on our bed upstairs. Can happily leave her upstairs unsupervised and whilst out of the home as well. No reports from the neighbour of her barking when no one is home. Upon arriving home, is asleep on her bed in the front room or upstairs on our bed. If you are looking for an affectionate companion, then Marvel is for you. Just loves the company of people, is a snuggle buddy and is a delight to have in the home. Has reactivity issues outside the home so will need an experienced handler, but living in a quieter location and willing to commit to training this could be addressed over time."

Marvel is a big, strong girl who does struggle with lead reactivity and although she has made plenty of dog friends at the Refuge, especially with puppies, she is looking to be the only pooch in the home! A capable handler for her walkies is needed as this girl is a ball of muscle 💪🏼

1 year old medium mixed breed Harper is loving life in foster and her foster carer has such wonderful things to say about this young girl 💖

"If you're looking for your new best friend, thunder buddy and snuggle buddy Harper is your girl.

It's been an absolute pleasure having Harper in my household. She's cheeky and will climb on your bed and couches then instantly snuggle in to make up for it. But she also listens when you let her know she can't be on there and will happily go on her own bed... as long as its near you.

She has to touch you and have you close. Even just a little paw or to have your hand on her belly. She doesn't have any issues with her paws being touched and played with. She doesn't fuss with thunder. She's the perfect mix of energy and chill.

Happy to play with her toys and can play fetch, then on the other hand is happy to snuggle in for cuddles. She will sit for her breakfast and dinner and treats. Very well mannered. If you lay on the floor expect her face to be straight on yours with LOTS of kisses.

It's a shame I work away and can't commit to Harper full time. She will make a household even more special, when there is one worthy of having her love."

Shy Tibbs is looking for his perfect home 🥹

This 1 year large mixed breed boy is a bit unsure of the world around him and is looking for an adult home with experienced owners who can help him build up his confidence. He would prefer his people to be home more often than not so he has lots of company! 🥰

Shy at first, Tibbs needs some time to come out of his shell but enjoys cuddles once he has warmed up. He would love to get out for calm, sniffy walks in low traffic areas. This sweet boy is unsure around other dogs and his new family should be committed to helping him build his confidence. 🐶🐾

✨🎤 Meet the ABBA Litter 🎤✨

Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Bjorn and Benny are 3 month old Border Collie x pups who came into our care very scared and in a state of neglect. These super cute pups have been soaking up plenty of love in foster care and are now ready for adoption. They will be at the refuge this weekend but we recommend submitting an online application first as we get busy on weekends and this will streamline the process.

These pups will need plenty of company, positive training, and, of course, loads of love as they settle in and grow. 🌱

🐾 Our Puppy Adoption Fee includes:
✅ Up-to-date flea & worm treatments
✅ First Vaccinations
✅ Microchipping & transfer
✅ Desexing at 6 months

Please remember a puppy is a 15 year commitment so consider your long term plans including housing, employment and how much time you have to to give to raising a puppy 💕

🐶 FOSTER CARERS NEEDED FOR 2 PREGNANT MUMMAS 🐶

Maggie and Baye would love to be settled into a foster home so that they can comfortably give birth to and raise their puppies. We’re looking for someone who is able to commit to fostering until puppies are around 6-7 weeks old and is home more often than not, short 3-4 hours shifts are okay. Experience with fostering pregnant mums is ideal but not a necessity. 💖

All food, toys, bedding etc will be provided by DRH, as well as medical care. Foster carer will not have any out of pocket expenses. Support and advice will be provided by DRH team.

Sweet shy Remi is currently soaking up all the love in her foster home! 🥰

This 1 year Amstaff x girl can be fearful initially and is looking for patient owners that have experience with nervous dogs. Once she is comfortable she is an absolute love bug! She would love lots of company in the home whilst she settles into her new life and builds up her confidence. She is best suited to living with older teens (16+). 💖

Remi absolutely loves going for long, sniffy walks! She prefers quiet areas away from big crowds but enjoys getting to catch up with her dog friends for playdates. She would love to go home with a doggy brother to keep her company. 😍🐾

How handsome is our Husky x Mastiff boy Bruce? 🥰

At 8 months old, this lovely boy hasn't had much guidance so far in his young life. He was left outside all the time and is lacking in basic skills and manners. 😢 He's looking for a family that is dedicated to his ongoing training and will engage him in lots of playtime! 🐶💖

Bruce is very dog friendly and will enjoy lots of opportunities to meet and play with dog friends. This boy can get a bit silly when playing so it's important he makes well matched doggy friends. 🐾 As he can be jumpy and boisterous, he is best suited to living with teens (13+). Bruce is super affectionate with his people and sticks to them like glue. He will make such a wonderful, loyal companion for the right family! 😍

At 9 years old, these senior pug boys are looking for their perfect retirement home where they can be the centre of your universe🪐They are a bonded pair so must be adopted together 🐶🐶

Despite their age they still have plenty of get up and go so would love gentle daily walks. A home without other dogs or children would be best for these older gentlemen, but they would likely be ok with children and polite dogs visiting the home 🏠 🤍

✨ DONNIE ✨

This handsome 3.5 year old American Staffy boy is super loving with his people and loves playing ball 🏀 almost as much as snuggling 🥰 He's looking for a home with dedicated owners who can provide him with gentle guidance and training to help him be the best boy he can be.

He can be a bit full-on when meeting new dogs and it's important his new owners take it slow and learn about his social preferences with other dogs. He would love to continue making polite female dog friends to have runs and plays with 🐾

Donnie would love to go on lots of adventures with his people and this sweet boy can be a bit shy initially but is so affectionate once he gets to know you! A relaxed home environment with a family who can go at his pace would be best. He would love to live with older teens (13+) that can spend lots of time playing with him 🥰

💛 POIDA 💛

Poida is a 3 year old Large Mixed Breed who has recently been returned to our care as his previous home just wasn't the perfect fit 😔

This happy boy is a staff favourite with his silly and goofy ways, he likes to help you clean his kennel by standing between your legs 😂 He is super cuddly with his favourite people, although he can be choosy at times so an experienced owner would be best. Poida will need a good settling in period and still has a lot to learn about the world through rewarding and positive experiences, including some work on his interactions with other dogs 🐶

His perfect home would be somewhere with a large yard, an active owner who is keen to get into training and someone who wants a super cuddly pooch 🥰 He is currently a little too bouncy for children so an adult only home would be best 💙🐾

Raven and her pups have food sensitivities and need a specialised diet. If you are able to donate some food for this little family we would be so grateful. Staffy girl Jules is looking for her perfect forever home! 💖

This pretty 2 year old girl came into our care heavily pregnant but sadly lost her puppies. She spent some time recovering in a foster home and her foster carer only has glowing words about this love bug. 🥰

Jules is a sensitive girl and can be a wary of loud noises. She's looking for a quiet home with experienced owners who can help to build up her confidence. Once she comes out of her shell she is a happy girl that loves to run around and play. This sweet girl is used to lots of company in her foster home and would prefer her new family to be home often. Kids (10+) are best for this shy girl. 🐶

Jules is a sensitive girl and is lacking in social skills with other dogs. Her new owners will need to be committed to working with one of our recommended trainers to help her manage this insecurity. 🐾

Do you absolutely adore itty bitty Bulldog mixes? Topaz is the perfect girl for you! 🥰💎

At 1 year old, Topaz is a super sweet and playful girl who just wants to be loved. This girl can be unsure at first and needs some time to build trust. Once she is comfortable, her affectionate and goofy side come out and she is just a joy to be around! 😍 This gal is looking for a home with patient owners who can show her gentle guidance and consistency to help her build up confidence and become the wonderful doggy we know she can be. 🐶

Topaz is a playful young girl who would like to get at least an hour of exercise and mental enrichment a day followed by lots of snuggles on the couch. 🛋 She absolutely loves other dogs and can get a little silly when playing so will need to make tolerant dog friends. She could live with a male doggy friend and calm kids (8+). 💙🐾

Rescue Month 2025 has officially come to an end and we would like to say a massive thank you to SavourLife and Petbarn for all of their support. 🧡💛

Thanks to Savourlife and Petbarn as well as everyone who brought Savourlife products, we were able to save all of these dogs and more from local and regional pounds in February. 🐾

Savourlife and Petbarn are incredible rescue advocates, providing support not only to us but to other rescues Australia wide. 🥰

Our little man Dallas is looking for a very specific home! 🥹

This sweet, sensitive 3 year old Chihuahua boy came into our care from a local pound with an unknown past and significant scaring across his body from prior injuries. Dallas is looking for a quiet home with very few visitors and patient people who have experience with fearful dogs. This little man struggles with visitors entering his home and will need owners who are fully committed to his ongoing training with one of our recommended trainers. 💙

As we are not aware of the history of his injuries his new owners will need to be compassionate and gentle with Dallas. This boy bonds very closely with his chosen people and is an absolute snuggle-bug. He struggles to be left alone and would prefer his people to be home more often than not. His foster carer has described him as a very clever boy and absolutely loves having him around. 🥰

Dallas is very uncertain around other dogs and will need gentle guidance from his family as well as work with one of our recommended trainers to help him manage his anxiety. As he is a nervous boy Dallas is not suited to a home with other pets or kids. 🐾

We are so excited to say that last week was a wonderful week for adoptions after a few quiet weeks in a row. So many wonderful doggies found their forever homes including long termer Sheela being adopted by her foster carer. A total of 34 pooches went home this week including 23 adult dogs and 11 puppies. We are keeping our fingers and paws crossed that next week is even better!

✨🪐 Meet the Planets Litter 🪐✨

These medium sized 8 week old Staffy type mix pups were orphaned at only 4 weeks old after their mother was sadly shot. Lucky for these 11 little ones, they came into our care and have been growing and receiving so much love in their foster homes. They will be available for adoption this weekend!

We've only received updated photos of three of the pups in foster so we have included two photos of the litter when they were younger. You can also watch this video from when they first arrived in our care to see what the litter looks like!
