❤️‍🩹 We've made a promise to Bert, that from now all he will know is love ❤️‍🩹

Bert is a 5 year old Bull Arab, he arrived to our care from Geraldton in a less than ideal condition, he was extremely underweight and had clearly not been cared for. He was very fearful and had no confidence, every noise would scare him and he took a few days to understand that we are not here to hurt him.

With the help of tasty chicken, patience and a lot of love, Bert is slowly coming out of his shell and showing his gorgeous, loving and sweet personality, he adores affection but his trust needs to be gained first.

Bert will need someone who can provide him with the love and care he deserves for the rest of his life. We never want him to feel the hunger, loneliness and fear he felt before. This sweet but sensitive boy still needs to gain some weight, once he is in better condition you are sure to see a new more energetic side of Bert but for now slow, sniffy walks are perfect for him.

A quiet, child free house hold with experienced, patient and understanding owners is a must. Bert should be the only dog in the home, he has shown no reaction to other dogs here at the Refuge but because of the scaring on his face we aren't sure about his previous experiences with other dogs.

His new owners will need to go very slow and take care around dogs until they get to know Bert better and how he will react. It may be that he just has no interest in being near them. Ideally people who are very good at reading dog body language so they can see if he is uncomfortable. On leash quiet walks and distance from dogs will be essential to slowly ease him into his new life 💙

The sweetest old man Albert 😌

You will absolutely fall in love with this beautiful boy the second you meet him!

Albert is a senior Staffy boy looking for the perfect home to spend the rest of his days lapping up all the love and affection that he deserves. Albert is a calm, friendly boy who politely asks for my pats with a tiny little lick of love.

At 12 years old, he was found wandering by he rangers and is now in our care, he is a simple dog that doesn't ask for much - just some company, a comfy bed and love for however long he has left.

Due to his age a quiet, adult only home environment is recommended. We think he may have Doggy Dementia and he needs someone who is home most of the time, to care for him.

Albert is no longer interested in interacting with dogs, he has not shown inappropriate reactions but doesn't need any socialisation with dogs at this stage in his life. He is best suited to being the only dog in the home, however he may be able to go home with another appropriately matched senior dog like him.

Albert deserves a whole lot of love and should be treated like a King in his new home 💛

So many horrific stories about this vet in ocean keys, Adrian. Sorry I will name and shame I don’t care. Take a read of the comments section. Too many pets have died on his watch and awareness is key as he is being allowed to re open soon. Horrendous.
