AI is killing Pet Food Reviews.
It used to be called plagiarism, but these days it’s perfectly acceptable for big tech to plagiarise the hard work and efforts of individuals without citing the individual as a source.
When it comes to pet food and pet diets most of the Internet is packed to the rafters with terrible information and bad advice, and AI simply takes my information and mixes it with bad information before serving it up to you. Is that a good thing?
Pet Food Reviews has taken up huge amounts of my time and money over the past decade or so. I have a day job and a family, so most time I spend on the website comes out of my free time and family time. It’s very hard work, and I’ve been failing for almost two years now to reply to so many emails and messages.
These days it doesn’t matter how much time and effort I spend writing reviews and content. It continues to reach less and less people.
Month on month the traffic to the website drops as more and more people adopt AI as a tool to ask questions and seek advice, and AI simply regurgitates what I have written.
I know AI is incredible and very useful. The times they are a-changin’ and all that.
I’m sure it will be as productive as trying to light a candle in a hurricane, but all I ask is for you to visit my website directly, or other websites that you value, as it supports the real people who spend so much time to research and write that content.
The power of AI is undeniable, but keep in mind it’s like buying a pirated CD (remember those?) and shafting the musician.
What do you think of AI?
