Capturing unconditional love and making forever lasting prints We are a husband and wife duo. Janaqa is naturally a people person.

Janaqa the photographer and his wife, Krishna the animal lover. Janaqa fell in love with photography when he picked up his father’s camera when Janaqa was 12. Even though he didn’t know it was the start of a wonderful journey packed with equal amounts of miracles, victories, challenges, and setbacks, it turned Janaqa into a diverse photographer with a major in photography from Murdoch University.

Krishna supported Janaqa by being the lighting assistant of Janaqa’s photography projects because she loves to watch Janaqa do his creative work with passion. Krishna on the other hand, is an animal person. Reflecting on each other's personalities on the 13th of October, 2023, Janaqa and Krishna got the idea to start a pet photography business. Within a few hours, they decided on a name, registered the business, purchased the website domain, and created social media pages. The idea of a pet photography business excited Janaqa and Krishna so much that they ended up going to Mullaloo Beach on the same day during the sunset and started taking photos of pets they met at the beach. And that was the beautiful start of PET IN A LENS.

A few months back, we visited Aveley Dog Park and took photos of pets. Among them were two Bullmastiff siblings, Chief and Danny. They were our very first Bullmastiffs to photograph,.

At first glance, Chief and Danny looked quite intimidating with their strong builds and serious expressions. They didn't immediately warm up to us, and to be honest, Krishna and I were a bit nervous too. It was a funny experience—these two big, seemingly tough dogs were just as scared of us as we were of them.

But with a little patience and time, Chief and Danny's started to get comfortable with us. They were big softies at heart, full of gentle affection. The initial apprehension melted away, and we found ourselves laughing and enjoying the moments with these dogs and their parents.

This is Mishka. She has beautiful eyes! We met her a few months ago during a Lucky-pet session at Shelly Foreshore.

We did not think the first pet we photograph would be a bird. And here is how it happened.

We thought of starting this business in October 2023 and went to Mullaloo beach on the same day to take some photos of pets at the beach. As we walk down the footpath to enter the beach, we heard the voice of a bird from the carpark and we turned back to check what the sound actually was.
To our surprise, it really was a galah bird.
Not just any Galah bird, it was the tiny but mighty .
We felt blessed to have you be the first pet we photographed Rocky!
