We had a familiar face visit us today!

Do you remember Chive, part of our beautiful spice litter?

He came in today for his castration! He is described as affectionate, super playful and mischievous by his family who say he has settled in beautifully.

Chive is now called Marshmallow and is living his best life!

He’s grown so big and is now about 5 months old 🥹❤️

Ziggi came in for a procedure with us and he was enjoying his recovery from anaesthetic with all the comfort we could offer! Eye mask, pillows and a warm blanket make for a smooth, relaxing post-surgery recovery.

Here at Foothills, our patients comfort is always paramount ❤️‍🩹

This beautiful girl has been brought into the clinic as a stray/lost.
Unfortunately she doesn’t have a micro
chip , if she is yours please phone the clinic on 9497 7488.

She unfortunately does have some injuries and is receiving treatment for them , therefore we would love to find her owners asap!

Our wonderful Dr Megan is going to be representing Foothills and the upcoming RSPCA Community Action Day where those having financial hardship seeking basic veterinary care for their pets can access health checks, microchips, parasite control and also swap any choke, chain or prong collar for humane Rogz collars!

This community clinic will run from 9am-11am on February 24 and is just one way our team is focusing on our quarter.

As part of our quarter we have a new community initiative supporting Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds where we will have a donation drop off point in reception for pet supplies that go towards helping those experiencing homelessness with their animals.

We are accepting cat and dog food (tins, sachets and dry food), collars and leads, beds, bowls, toys, brushes, parasite treatments, animal shampoos and pet treats.

You can drop these in to the clinic during any of our opening hours and if donations do not fit in the donation basket we will organise collection.

We are proud to support our community and hope you can assist in any way possible. We know times are tough so even sharing this post will help the pets and the humans who need a little extra support ❤️

Tattie the border collie came in for her Spey today and was a star patient!

Puppy school and puppy high school starting up from February 4!

Puppy school at Dogs United focuses on building a relationship between you and your new family member, harnessing and building confidence and making training a fun and always positive experience in the critical socialisation period puppies have 🐾

Welcoming a new puppy into your family is an exciting time and the trainers at Dogs United are here to help give you and your puppy the very best start to life together!

Join us for these four week fun packed learning adventures where we help your puppies confidence grow and start that all important connection between you and your puppy!

Two classes available:

1. Preschool for younger puppies not yet fully vaccinated 6pm 4th February, central Armadale. ONLY ONE place left.

Or

2. High School for puppies who have at least their first TWO vaccines up to 6mths of age, 7.15pm 4th February, central Armadale - CLASS FULL. Next course starts 4th March.

Wishing all of our patients and their families a happy, safe and joyful new year.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for the special part you play in making Foothills what it is. We are honoured to be your chosen vet and to care for your pets.

We have had many amazing moments in 2024 (and some very sad ones too) and are looking forward to seeing you all in the new year. If you’d like, we would love to hear a special moment you had with your beloved pet this year in the comments below.

ADOPTION UPDATE!

Our handsome boy Dash was adopted by a family whose pets have been coming to Foothills for many years.

We can see he is settling in well with his new kitten brother and they are enjoying some sunshine in their catio.

We want to thank Dash’s new family for taking him in to their home and making him a part of their family. We are so grateful for them and the wonderful care they give their pets.

A special thank you to nurse Shanae who fostered Dash whilst we found him a home and to the kind gentleman who saw him dashing across Albany highway as a young kitten and bought him to safety at Foothills.

A reminder leading up to Christmas that we are CLOSED on the public holidays and have reduced hours Christmas Eve.

Kobalt’s tips for keeping your furry friends cool in the upcoming hot Perth summer:

☀️ ensure pets have access to shade if outdoors
☀️ provide multiple water bowls to ensure access to water at all times and in the event one bowl is knocked over
☀️avoid walking or sun exposure between the hottest part of the day or when the temperature is 25 degrees or more
☀️ be aware of breed specific risks (like brachycephalic breeds) and adjust environments and exercise to suit your pets individual needs
☀️never leave pets in unattended vehicles, even for a few minutes
☀️provide cool enrichment (like frozen pet-safe ice treat blocks) to help keep pets cool

IF you suspect your pet has heat stroke, contact your closest vet clinic IMMEDIATELY - some signs include, excessive panting, drooling more than usual, lethargy, vomiting or behaviour changes.

Basil bought his best friend in when he spent the day with us for a procedure!

Basil takes time to warm up to new people but by the end of the day was enjoying some cuddles and pats with the Foothills team.
