LOOKING FOR A FAMILY 🏡❣️

Meet DASH!

Dash is approximately 8-10 weeks old and is looking for a family to call his own.

He is available for adoption through our CARE-fund at Foothills.

If you are interested in making this little man part of your family can you please send an email to [email protected] with the subject Dash Adoption and attention to nurse Natasha.

This little guy is growing up around another cat and is so far cat social, and is learning to understand what dogs are too but is more cautious around them.

In the email please let us know:
1. Members of your family (humans and animals, ages included please)
2. Reason for wanting to add to your family

Our adoption fee is $390 and covers the microchip, first vaccination and desexing (to be done at 5 - 6 months of age)

We look forward to matching this cutie with his forever family 🐾❣️

We are a little late to introduce Morgan to you all but she is our superstar front of house receptionist who is currently studying her vet nursing certificate!

Morgan moved from New Zealand with her family (including her cute as a button rotti Louie!).

Here is a little snap shot about Morgan!

Owned by Louie 🐾🐶

Hobbies- spending time with family and friends, going to the beach and playing netball

Bio- born and bred in nz, recently moved over with my family. Have always had a strong interest in working with animals, worked in a clinic back home which made me want to give nursing a try, since moving here I’ve decided it’s a good opportunity to further my career in this industry and take the opportunity to study veterinary nursing.

Special interest- canine behaviour and nutrition

We love having you as part of our team Morgan and can’t wait to see your nursing career go from strength to strength

One of the core values here at Foothills is to make vet visits as low stress, comfortable and anxiety free as possible for pets and their families.

One way to help facilitate this is using our dogs outdoor area! The garden has toys, a bench for owners to sit and relax on and plenty of places for your dogs to sniff! Using this area helps keeps your pets feeling comfortable in what can otherwise be quite an overwhelming environment for our pets. When booking, please request the garden for your dogs if you think this will help facilitate a calm vet visit!

Here is Lexi waiting for her appointment in the garden! 🐶🐾🦴

Meet ALFIE!

Alfie was sneezing and seemed to be irritated in his face so his mum bought him in for an assessment.

We put Alfie under anaesthetic and found a grass seed in his nose!

These pesky grass seeds are abundant at this time of year and can lead to a whole bunch of symptoms depending where they’ve lodged themselves.

Some areas that grass seeds can lodge themselves in are
- eyes
-nose
- ears
- paw pads

They pe*****te skin and can travel to various parts of the body if undetected.

Some symptoms include
- sneezing (nose)
- head shaking or scratching (ears)
- squinting or rubbing (eye)
- abscess or painful swelling in affected area
- licking and chewing (paws/skin)

We have already removed grass seeds from 5 patients in the last week!

If you’re worried about your pet having a grass seed foreign body, please give the clinic a call and share this post to raise awareness 🐾🌾

Just an announcement that tomorrow, Saturday November 2, we will have only one vet on duty and thus will have more limited availability for appointments. Additionally from 1pm there will be no vet in clinic.

These changes are due to staff illness and we want our team healthy ASAP 🙏🏼

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding 🌿

An update on Mama Sage and her Spice Kittens

All the kittens and their Mamma have been officially adopted!!

They have all settled beautifully into their new homes. Some kittens went to homes with children and some went to homes needing hearts mending after the loss of a beloved pet.

Although it is beautiful to see these little souls find their forever homes, it is a reminder that we should ensure our pets are sterilised and if we see an animal in need, all it takes is one kind action to create a domino effect of change. Without the kind member of the public who found this family acting with kindness, they would not be warm and indoors and loved today.

As we head into kitten season, please be on the look out for any cats who need your help.

We couldn’t have done this without our CAREfund and a team of nurses and vets who want to see the animals in this world live their best lives.

🐾🐈

Pictured below is Sage, the mamma cat who now knows what a warm bed and fully belly and a family feels like ❤️

Finally - thank you to the five families who opened their hearts and homes to these beautiful souls. Enjoy this wonderful time with your new family members.

Allergy season is in FULL swing!

Cytopoint is an injection that can be injected under the skin to provide relief to your pets allergy related itch!

It works by acting like your pets immune system - it targets and neutralises one of the main proteins that signal itchiness to the brain related to environmental allergens! It can reduce your pets urge to itch, lick and paw at irritated areas of skin providing them comfort in the itchy season.

Once your pets skin is not been traumatised by itching, it can begin to heal.

For a limited time we are offering $20 off cytopoint injections so book in now and see the difference cytopoint can make for your pet 🐾

CONTENT WARNING: medical images in post

This is Buddy - a young Rottweiler x Newfoundland who came to us feeling pretty unwell. He was sick, not able to eat and keep his food down and even keeping water down was a struggle. He was lethargic and losing weight.

Luckily Buddy’s family acted when they realised their young beloved family member was not himself. After diagnostic ultrasounds revealed a foreign body, Dr Nicole went into surgery to remove the lodged foreign body from Buddy’s intestine.

Can you guess what we found!?

Throughout his surgery, Buddy received all the required medications plus top notch nursing care from nurse Natasha and nurse Shanae.

Buddy has made a full recovery and his energy and zest for life is back. He is regaining weight and thriving.

We are so glad we could care for Buddy!

ATTENTION

Please note we have internet and phone lines down.

We are trying to get back up and running asap!

Thank you in advance for your co operation.

WILL YOU BE OUR FOREVER FAMILY?

We were found in a shed, not feeling well and struggling to thrive, where a kind member brought us into Foothills to give us a chance at life. Nurse Natasha has been fostering these little ones and they are now absolutely thriving.

This mumma has done a fantastic job of raising her litter and they are now almost weaned and ready to find their own homes.

In a beautiful twist, where Mumma Cats normally are last to be adopted, one of our nurses is adopting Sage (mum).

Introducing the little kittens who are now looking for their homes
CHIVE a food hungry little one who loves toys and playing!
CLOVE a snuggle bug who is dainty and sweet!
CINNAMON the human lover who never misses a cuddle and loves to climb!
CAYENNE the quiet, independent little observer who is curious but adorably sweet.

If you are interested in adopting any of these kittens please EMAIL ONLY [email protected] and attention the email to Nurse Natasha.
In the email, please answer these questions:
1. Members of the house (human and pets) and their ages
2. Have you ever had a cat before?
3. Describe your household in 3 words.
4. Will you keep the cat indoor only or with access to a catio only?

These special kids are looking for super special homes ❣️🐱🐈

Has your pet been itchy and red, licking at their paws or rubbing and rolling themselves in the grass to get the itchy spot?

If you’ve noticed these symptoms in your pet, we can help!

Our vets can discuss a multimodal approach to helping keep your pets skin healthy and itch-free.

Call us on 9497 7488 to book or visit our website and book online: http://www.foothillsanimalhospital.com.au
