Our lovely ladies are clucking happily and laying plenty of farm-fresh eggs. They’re enjoying the good life — sunshine (and waaaay tooooo much rain 🫣), space, and lots of love — and now they’re sharing the goodness with us. 🥚💛

Supplies are limited (the hens work hard but not that hard 😅), so it’s first in, best dressed.

Well… Wafflepop officially stole the show last Friday at the Give a Hoot Homeschool Market Day Expo! 🦉

For those who haven’t met him yet, Wafflepop isn’t your usual horse… he’s a bright blue plastic barrel with a saddle and reins strapped on. (Yes, really! 😂) He normally helps our learners practice balance and confidence before hopping up on a real horse, but at the expo, he became the star attraction.

Kids loved him, of course… but do you know who couldn’t resist climbing on? The grown-ups! I think half the parents at the expo had a sneaky test ride!

Alongside Wafflepop’s antics, we got to share:
📚 Fantastic Horse Facts (yes, horses can sleep standing up!)
🎨 DIY horseshoe decorations (so many sparkly masterpieces went home)
👩‍🏫 Info about our Homeschool Hoofbeats group sessions and 1:1 Equine Assisted Learning programs – a safe, supportive, hands-on way for kids to learn and grow.

It was such a lovely day chatting with families about what Equine Assisted Learning actually is; learning with horses (or Wafflepop stand-ins!) to build confidence, emotional regulation, and life skills in the most fun, down-to-earth way.

🎉🐴 HAPPY HORSE'S BIRTHDAY! 🐴🎉

Today my heart is overflowing as we celebrate our magnificent herd and every horse that graces this earth with their extraordinary presence.

There are no words for what these majestic beings give to us. They're healers, teachers, mirrors to our souls. They've taught me that true strength is gentle, that communication goes far deeper than words, that trust, once broken, can be rebuilt with patience and respect, and most importantly they have taught me to just be.

Today, as we spoil them with extra carrots and endless scratches, as we watch them roll in the dirt and run free in the paddocks, my soul is singing with gratitude.

If a horse has changed your life and touched your heart, share their story below. Let's honour these incredible beings who give us everything and ask for so little.

They deserve our celebration, our protection, and our endless love. 🐴💛

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a gorgeous group of girls out to visit the herd, and ohhh my heart 🐴💛

There were a few nerves when they first arrived (totally normal when you're meeting a bunch of big, beautiful horses!)… but it didn’t take long before the smiles kicked in!

By the end of it, they were calm, connected, and completely immersed in nature play; brushing the ponies, giving hugs, giggling their hearts out, and soaking in every moment. Even the horses looked like they were smiling! 🐎

I love putting on these group sessions . Whether it’s a birthday, a siblings day out, a family catch up or a bunch of friends wanting to do something different, this space is made for connection.

And it’s not just for kids! Adults are absolutely welcome too. (Trust me, brushing a pony in the sunshine is good for the soul at any age 🥰)

What if I told you that some of the most beautiful art happens with the help of our equine friends? I've been running this activity with kids for awhile now, and it never fails to amaze me! 💛🎨🐴

We start simple. I hand each child a horse-shaped stencil and watch as they carefully choose their colors, dolloping paint with the kind of focus that only kids can muster. Then we seal their artwork in a plastic bag, place it on a tray with some sweet pellets, and head out to meet our four-legged collaborators. You should see the children's faces when I explain that the horses are about to become their art partners. The horses, completely focused on those delicious pellets, gently nuzzle and push the bag as they eat. With each soft movement of their muzzles, the paint swirls and dances, creating patterns no human hand could ever replicate.

I've watched a lot of children experience this moment, and it gets me every single time! There's something really quite cool about a child realising that their artwork is being completed by a gentle giant who has no idea they're creating magic!

The paintings that emerge are absolutely stunning, each one completely unique! The children then get to carry with them home a memory of trust, of collaboration, of letting something beautiful happen without trying to control every brushstroke.

I love this activity because it teaches kids that some of life's most beautiful moments happen when we work together, when we trust the process, and when we're open to surprises.

Watch a child who's been carrying the weight of a too-busy world discover what it feels like to breathe again. See their shoulders drop as they lean into Penny's warm flank. Notice how their racing thoughts quiet when all that matters is the rhythm of a pony's breathing and the warmth of sunshine on their face.

These are the sessions where something deep inside your child begins to heal, where they remember that the world can be safe, that trust is possible, and that sometimes the most profound connections happen without words.

In our rush to fill every moment with enrichment and achievement, we forget that our children's souls are hungry for something simpler. They need spaces where they can move at their own pace, where there's no pressure to perform, where the only expectation is presence.

Your child might be the one who melts down after school, who struggles to sleep, who carries anxiety in their little body like a heavy backpack. Or maybe they're the one who seems fine but you sense something's missing... a lightness, a spark, a connection to something bigger than screens and schedules.

This is why we create these moments. Because every child deserves to remember what peace feels like 💛🐴
