Pet Owners Guide To Surviving Easter
Tip 2 – Chocolate
It is well known now that chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats but it is still something we see all too often. Easter and chocolate go hand in hand so it’s inevitable that at some point there will be some kind of cocoa product in the house. Chocolate contains the toxins caffeine and theobromine which cause vomiting and diarrhoea on the mild end of the toxicity range and seizures or heart arrhythmias on the severe end. If your pet ingests one of these products the best thing to do is pick up the phone and call the nearest vet. We can calculate the toxicity level based on their weight, the type of chocolate and how much your pet has ingested and recommend the next best steps. As much fun as a Chocolate Egg Hunt is, it’s best to keep your pets away from this part of the Easter action.

😿Fee Free Cats😿

We have a few cats here that are long timers here at the shelter – some have been here for 8+ weeks waiting for their furrever homes.

We know the little kittens are super cute, but so are these cats! Do you have space in your home for a new furry friend, come down and meet these beautiful cats that just need a little extra love.

😻Fee Free Weekend😻

Cat Haven is on a mission to clear the shelter this weekend. With all cats over a year old being fee free *Excluding special breeds. We are at our limits at the moment and with kitten season right on our heels we need to adopt out all our healthy cats this weekend to make room for the influx of new cats coming in each day. We take in over 8,000 cats per year and this hasn’t slowed down this year.

If you have been thinking of adopting a furry friend now is the best time, we have so many lovely cats on site and in foster that are needing new homes. Come down to the shelter tomorrow or Sunday between 10am-4pm to meet the cats or check out all our cats in foster here: https://www.cathaven.com.au/collections/cats-for-adoption

We want to make sure every cat in need has a home this weekend. Please come down!

🐾No bookings needed
🐾Please bring your own carrier if you have one, if not you can purchase them from our retail store
🐾You must bring photo ID and ID with your address on it
🐾Normal adoption procedure applies
🐾Please be patient with staff and volunteers when you are here as it will be a busy day

Noting that the fees for the cats are waived, however we do have a fully stocked retail store with food, litter, bedding and everything you need to take your new furry friend home. As always the profits made from your purchases go directly to helping more cats and funding vet treatment for injured and unwell cats.

We can’t wait to introduce you to your new family member.

We are excited to announce the date for the next Cat Expo Perth!

We will be running our third successful Cat Expo on SUNDAY OCTOBER 30th from 12 noon to 4pm at the Craigie Leisure Centre.

Please note: no animals are permitted at the venue in any capacity.
