There was plenty to like about Monte Tremezzo (2 F Hellbent X Tremezzina) in her debut victory on the weekend, especially the determination to dig in over the final 200m and edge out the smart Storm Away. We couldn't have asked for much more at start number one.

We couldn't be happier to see Eighty Mile Beach (3 G Omaha Beach X Elite Ateates) win at Ascot for the Anderson Family, our great friends from Anita Vale Stud. The younger half-brother to our former champ, Elite Street, is certainly heading in the right direction.

It wasn't looking good for American Escape (3 F A Lot X Fleeting Angel) when jockey Brad Parnham took his saddle off behind the gates at the Bunbury Turf Club today. Fortunately, she was soon cleared to start and survived the pre-race drama to score a determined win 🏅

POV: You walk into Belmont Park to buy a racehorse and leave with the added expenses of flights to London, hiring a top hat, and accommodation in the UK! Not as a patron, but as a racehorse owner in a Group 1 sprint, in front of the Royal Family. Surely not! 🎩

Scenic Blast, an $80,000 purchase at the 2006 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, was offered by Durham Lodge (now Scenic Lodge Thoroughbred Stud). Not only did he take his WA owners to the famous English carnival, but three interstate raids over east brought back three Group 1 trophies!

Now the retired champion, who makes regular appearances at the track, has a Listed sprint named in his honour—a worthy recognition for the WA Racing Hall of Fame Inductee.

What a ride it has been with the little warrior Weaponson, but the time is right to retire from racing and find a loving home for him.

Nine wins and 19 placings from 64 starts netted him $603,765 in prizemoney and Westspeed bonus payments, and of course, who could forget his career-best victory in the listed Old Comrade Stakes at Ascot in April 2023.

Weaponson has done a mighty job for his fantastic team of owners and will retire from racing a happy and healthy 8YO thoroughbred.

While this chapter has closed, he has the temperament and character to provide someone with many years of joy in whatever discipline he pursues off the track.

Sail Session (3 G Sessions X Unfurl) comfortably handled the rise to 1800m at Ascot today and recorded an encouraging maiden win under Chris Parnham. This fellow appears to be a promising staying prospect for the team at Oakland Park Stud.
