Originally from sunny California, Dr Roxanne has found her second home in Perth. She graduated with both a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Murdoch University. 🎓
More recently, Dr Roxanne has honed her skills in emergency medicine and surgery at WAVES, bringing invaluable experience to our team.
When she’s not caring for your pets, you’ll find her visiting our beaches and trying out new restaurants. 🏥🐶🐱

Rosie was in today for patella surgery, she was a star patient and is recovering well ⭐️🐾🐶

We are closed for the public holiday today. We will reopen for our normal weekend hours, see you from 8am tomorrow. We hope you all have safe and peaceful day.
Not all baby birds and fledglings need to be brought into the clinic for vet attention, they are best raised by their parents. However, if they are injured or sick we are able to assist. Please swipe for information on what to do if you find a baby bird or fledging.
This little fledging magpie was brought into us after being attacked by crows. He/she was very lethargic and dehydrated. After some love and care from the nurses he/she is now strong enough to be sent to a rehabilitation centre to be cared for and hopefully released in the future. 🦜🕊️🐦⬛🪿🐥
We will have adjusted opening hours for the festive period and encourage you to book your appointments ahead of time.
Please note our adjusted opening hours tomorrow, Sunday December 10th, from 11am until 5pm!

We know it’s common for cats to ask for milk, but did you know it’s not actually safe for them once they reach adulthood?
Most adult cats are lactose intolerant, which means they lack the necessary enzyme, lactase, that helps them properly digest lactose.
Consuming milk can lead to gastrointestinal upset in cats, including diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
It’s better to make sure they have a few bowls of fresh water around your home to keep them healthy and hydrated.

You clean your pearly whites daily, but what about your pet?
Your pet should have a dental cleaning done regularly to get rid of plaque buildup and reduce the risk of dental diseases.
Take a look at how clean these teeth are after a clean at our clinic.

Has your pet gotten too festive this holiday season and eaten tinsel or other decorations, here’s how you can avoid this happening. If you have a pet who enjoys to chew on things, such as a new puppy, put a barrier up between the puppy and Christmas tree. Stay away from glass and other fragile Christmas decorations Keep lights and electrical decorations higher up and away from reach of your furry friend. Greenery such as Poinsettia should be avoided as these are poisonous and particularly dangerous to pets. For more information, chat to any of our team at Ascot vet for more information.
Today is World Animal Day! It's a day to celebrate our special bond with animals. It is also a day where we can unite to speak up for those with no voice and make a difference in improving welfare standards. You can make a difference by simply doing something kind for animals! We have a few ideas for you: 1. Donate (whatever you can afford) to nonprofit organisations for animals – e.g. World Wildlife Fund. 2. Volunteer - your time is valuable, and you can make a difference by volunteering at a local shelter or animal sanctuary. 3. Educate yourself - read up on animal issues and avoid products that hurt animals. 4. Shower your pets with a little extra love. #WorldAnimalDay
It’s time for your warm coats, hot drinks and fluffy socks and for our furry companions we have a few winter warmer tips. Have you got any tips for keeping your dogs and cats warm? Let us know!
Today is World Turtle Day! #worldturtleday was started to celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats. Australia is home to about 23 species of these slow but steady species, but sadly over half are listed as endangered. At Ascot Vet, we are passionate about protecting the environment and the conservation of these beautiful creatures. So we have created a list of simple things you can do to make a difference and help this World Turtle Day. #throwback to when a rescue turtle visited the clinic!
With summer fast approaching, it’s important to remember that not everyone enjoys the warmer weather equally. For many dogs, temperature regulation is challenging on hot days. Don’t forget, if a surface is too hot to touch, it’s also too hot for your fur baby’s paws! Here are our top tips on keeping your pup cool this summer ☀️
Today at Ascot Vet, we’re commemorating R U OK Day 💛 Reaching out can be as simple as: Ask R U OK? Listen Encourage action Check in How will you be commemorating R U OK Day? 🐾
At Ascot Vet, we’re truly passionate about your pet. We’re so grateful for our patients. Thank you for your kind words. Receiving positive feedback is always appreciated, and makes such a difference to all the staff on tougher days🤗
Looking for some tips on clipping your cat’s claws at home? Firstly, we recommend allowing your cat to become acquainted with the clippers. You can do this by leaving them out the night before for thorough investigation! 🐾 Choose a calm, quiet room with plenty of treats on hand. 🐾 Put your cat in your lap, facing away from you. 🐾Take one of paw into your hand and gently press on the pad until the claw appears. 🐾 Cut only the sharp point and be sure to avoid the quick. We understand that claw clipping can be daunting and often, vet assistance is required. At Ascot, we’re more than happy to step in! Call us to book in today 📞 9277 7488.
