The Willetton Digital Technology Club for 50+ is kicking off again for 2022 next Monday 14th February 9:30am-11:30am at Rostrata Family Centre. Learn how to use your devices confidently, and be safe online. This course is for beginners and will be ongoing throughout 2022. Please bring your own fully-charged device. This course is free 😃Bookings Essential.

We are nearing the end of our Be Connected journey with our 2020 Learners. We suffered a setback with COVID, but we are on track for a successful year! Looking forward to Term 4 and some fun projects!

Lately there have been a huge increase in the amount of scams doing the rounds, and the amount of money being lost due to phishing scams.

To stay safe, people should avoid clicking links in emails or text messages, instead sourcing their own websites or phone numbers for the companies or government departments supposedly contacting them. Also talk to family and friends, this dramatically reduces the risk of getting caught by a scam.

Cybercriminals exploit the struggling and lonely with new scams, and are targeting bank accounts in the pandemic like never before, the ACCC warns.

What an awesome turnout we had today for the re-launch of our Willetton Digital Technology Club 50+ for 2020! Attended by 50 new eager learners who joined up, had a bit of fun, and made new friends! Thanks to everyone who came along and helped to make it such a successful morning! Many thanks to Good Things Foundation Australia and the Be Connected. Network for sponsoring this fantastic Community Engagement event 😊 Next week the hard work begins 🤓 💻 📱

At the end of last term we wrapped things up with a little celebration 🥳 🎉 After completing all our Be Connected modules we awarded certificates to all our members, and we all joined in the fun with a little Trivia Quiz put together by the lovely Jean. A lot of fun and laughs were had, along with some delicious morning tea. Thanks to everyone for making the term so special ♥️

A massive THANKYOU to the City of Canning for the $500 Community Grant they so generously awarded to us so that we could purchase some tablets for our Willetton Digital Technology Club for 50+. This has enabled all our learners to have access to the technology required to complete the class modules. They have been a welcome addition, and have helped to change the lives of our club members!
