Too hot for outside play today. So we decided to do some mental stimulation instead. This one was a little tricky with 2 dogs and might not look like much but it gets their brains working and thinking for them selves.
Place an object infront of you and give a treat either side. No talking required. Slowly move the object further away from you as the game goes on. They must go around the object to get the treat. If they go behind you or in-between they don't get the reward. Eventually the object will be at the other end of the room and then you can add in a command such as round. It can be a useful trick when walking if your dog goes on the opposite side of a pole. Or you would like them to take a different route.

Here's an idea if your like me and have missed some walks this past week due to the heat! 🥵
Hide and seek!
I give the kids some doggy treats and they play and play and play.
Enough Mental stimulation can be the equivalent to a walk /run.
This game gets them to use their heads, their noses. A little bit of running around and a lot of bonding and Interaction.💞
And you do not have to be a kid to play this game 😝

When I was pregnant I was so worried that my first baby 🐕 Charley was going to feel left out.😅 I taught him tricks which helped him still get the attention and stimulation he needed even on those hard sleepy days with a new born.

I have so much love for these girls!
Not working in a fast paced salon any more I get a lot of 1 year old dogs for there first groom or dogs that only come evey 6 months. This makes for a very stressful job!
But these two are so full of love and trust and kisses, it reminds me why I fell in love with this job path in the first place. 🥰 Always a pleasure

This is Gus 💞 he is 13 and today he got pound break thanks to the team at haart. 🙏
This is one of the many reasons why I don't support breeding.
Humans are the only species to breed others for their own enjoyment.
It's gotten so out of hand as everyone just wants the shiny and new.
That's not what life is or should be about.
It's our fault, the humans, that so many animals are suffering because of our pure greed.
So many dogs like Gus get tossed aside like their life doesn't matter just to make room for more and the cycle to continue.
Let's face it the world is turning to s**t in so many ways and you might think that your not part of the problem but, are you part of the solution?

This is peanut who gets a little nervous when visiting the salon. Today whilst I was grooming her sister, I called upon my assistant who specialises in relaxing dogs and making them feel at home. 💕

Right I have to let you all know that this cat sign is actually not a joke.😂
Please if you are walking in and you see a small, innocent looking cat. Don't be fooled!
Your dog may be okay with cats but she is a ninja in disguise.!
She loves people but if you let your dog approach she will leap on for a rodeo.

I just wanted to remind you all that not every cut has to he the same. You can get creative and request what ever you like! Bring in a picture or better yet my favourite let me choose 😆.

Sandy's turn for a pamper today. 💅
Ready for her last agility class of the term.
She had 🐶

⚡A 10 minute medicated malaseb soak.

⚡Followed by a lemon grass and sage deep scrub with a shed reducing formula.

⚡Topped with a lush massage using lavender, geranium and bergamont relax dog conditioner.

And finally 30 seconds after taking this photo a roll on the only dirt patch on the lawn whilst still wet 🤦‍♀️.
BUT! my gosh does she smell divine! 🌺

Kennel cough is going around.
Best to bring your own water bowl on walks.
It can also be transmitted through the air alone so maybe best to steer clear of the crowded dog parks at this time.

Charleys grooming is revamped for 2023.

This last year I have enhanced my canine knowledge through the studies of care and training. As this is coming to an end,I'm excited to be able to offer much more than just the grooming services we will continue to provide.
