Just watched a movie on Netflix,Balibo,which depicts what was happening in East Timor when myself and family,mum and sis,my auntie and 2 cousins went to Bali in’75. After a great time in Bali back when Kuta was still just a village,we were forced to leave because of the activity of the Indonesian army.
We had to island hop in small local aircraft to Kupang and then to Dilli where we had armed guards accompanying us everywhere we went. From there we got a flight to Darwin and escaped. A week later the Dutch couple that we stayed with were lined up against a concrete wall a executed.
An amazing experience when you’re very young.

This is number 3 of the weirdly behaved large Dugites from last year. This one is a completely different colouration/morph compared to the last 2 ,but again very placid beautiful large Dugite.

This is the second Dugite (Pseudonaja affinis) found behind the bbq of a resident of Floreat. Relocated to Golf Complex. When I worked there,not a great experience,the superintendent and 2ic told me there are no snakes in the golf course-😂😂😂 300 acres with a lot of virgin bush land with no snakes- bloody idiots. So I took it on myself to repopulate the numbers. Have relocated 20+ snakes from local areas so now there’s a more balanced ecosystem. This one is a similar colour to the first one but is heavily speckled. In the video watch the shadow,it got close.

Gday all haven’t posted anything for a while so here’s some highlights from ‘23. In 2 weeks I relocated 4 large Dugites-6ft + maybe. So I’ll make individual posts for each. First 3 were very placid when released as you’ll see. The 4th was the exact opposite. It shows all snakes have different personalities.

The very Quick release of the Dugite (Pseudonaja affinis) from the other night.

Got a call out about 8ish last night for a Dugite. The lady of the house saw the last couple of cm’s of the tail disappearing behind the kitchen cabinets.
They checked through the manhole into the crawl space under the house.
They saw a loop of body coming through the gap between the floorboards and wall.
I got there asap and it hadn’t moved ,so crawled into the space and with gloves grabbed the loop of body. Then the head appeared about a ft away so swapped hands and held the head.
After lots of tickling and pinching it’s tail ,at one point it looks like I’m giving him a happy ending 🤣,he or she finally came free. I only necked it because I felt that was the best way to work my way out while having full control of the snake.
