Super Senior Pet of the week - Introducing 19 year old Ollie ! Doesn't he look amazing for such an old gentleman cat ?!

Likes: People. He'll plonk himself down right in the middle of any gathering, big or small.
Dislikes: Whistling. He once came in from another room just to scratch me in the face to make me stop. (He's now gone mostly deaf, though, so he probably wouldn't be bothered anymore.)
Favourite Food: Canned tuna. Or possibly cake. We can't have either without him pestering us for some.
Favourite Pastime: Sleeping on my desk while I work.
Favourite Toy: Probably the laser pointer.
Naughtiest habit: We can't have plants in the house – he'll eat them.

Nothing like the intensity of Lab looking for a treat! Beautiful Isabelle is our super Senior Pet of the week, nearly 12 years old and just as willing as ever to bounce around our waiting room, greeting everyone with a smile as only a Labrador can. Treat hunting is probably her favourite past time!

Saying goodbye to our much loved patients is never easy, but is a daily occurrence in the life of vets and vet nurses. What makes this bearable is the knowledge of how much this is appreciated by our clients, to be of service at what can be the most difficult time. We had the pleasure of meeting and treating "Bailey" yesterday, a beautiful blue brindle Greyhound with such a gentle nature. Its always a great day when we get to see Greyhounds.

It's always a good day when I get to meet the next generation of pets with a long term client. I had the pleasure to meet little "Sophie" who is the newcomer to a wonderful household and cheeky companion for "Dudley" the shy big guy. I think he would happily be a lap dog too if size was permitting!

"Ouch Factor" today at MalagaVet!
An unhappy accident while walking at the beach this morning, ended up in a vet visit for one of our young patients today. The large hook was fully embedded in the pad! Also a reminder to the fishermen amongst us to be careful with tackle whether it is at the beach or at home. Fish hook removal requires general anaesthesia (and some bolt cutters!) to safely and painlessly remove them. We're happy to say this young fellow will make a full recovery in the next few days.

Lost female tortoiseshell cat handed in to MalagaVet on 17/2/24. She is microchipped but we have had no response from the listed owner. Her name is "Sophie". Sophie was found in the suburb of Wandi - yes that's a loooong way from Malaga! The member of public finding her had sought shelter from the RSPCA, then been directed to us as the closest vet.
Please spread the word in the hope we can find her family and get her home safe and sound. Thank you!

To all of our feline friends pet-parents:
Due to complicated supply problems post-COVID, there is currently a extreme shortage of feline vaccines in Australia. We have just completely run out of stock at MalagaVet and we are unable to update cat vaccinations until further notice.
As soon as we do have more vaccines we will send notices to you by social media and our email/text messaging reminder service.
Feline health checks, parasite treatments and all other veterinary medical and surgical services from your team at Malaga are available as always. Thank you!

Help! I have been working hard in the lab at MalagaVet, but what I really need is a fur-ever home for Christmas!

I need to be kept inside or in a cat run because I got myself into some mischief outside and broke my hip. The folks at Malaga have sorted this out but I’m still recovering.
