Local Parvo Warning for anyone in or around the City of Wanneroo, if your dog shows any signs please call your vet straight away and explain symptoms, they will then advise you of what you need to do.
This is also another reminder if your dog is sick please don't send them to day care, grooming or take them out in public until they are feeling better. Parvo is not the only highly contagious illness your beloved pooches can contract

LOCAL PARVOVIRUS REPORTS 🐕 | The City has been advised that two dogs are reported to have contracted parvovirus in the Wanneroo area.
Owners said both dogs had visited Edgar Griffiths Dog Park in the days leading up to their diagnoses.
This is a timely reminder to ensure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations and to visit the vet if they are experiencing vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy or dehydration.

Since the weather is warming up so is the ground temperature!
Have you ever thought how painful it would be to walk on the road or path or even hot sand, with nothing protecting your feet?Well that's what dogs do on a daily basis, their paws are unprotected so when walking on hot surfaces they can get severe burns which can lead to multiple other complications.
Well the solution is dog booties! These can be used for many different purposes but I think it's an amazing training tool too. You never know what situation you may be in that your pooch needs to wear booties. We are currently in the process of desensitising Remi to booties so when we go places like camping or when we let her out the back on a hot day, like today, her paws are safe and we don't have to worry about them getting injured.
Some examples of times your pooch may need yo wear booties are but not limited too:
🐾Camping
🐾Hiking
🐾Hot weather (or extreme cold weather such as snow)
🐾Going for walks in unknown locations where there may be dangerous things like broken glass
🐾Older dogs to help with grip or to help protect the poor when dragging
🐾recovering from an injury on the paws
The way I see it, if you wouldn't walk on it with your bare feet why should your dog have to? Also its important to remember place the back of your hand down on the ground and hold it for 5 seconds if you can't do that because it's too hot then your dog can't either

Okay so before you disagree with me, please read the whole post
I personally believe every dog should be crate trained because you never know when they may need to be in a crate, and after all in the will they are Den animals and a crate is their den.
Here are just a few reasons that a dog may need to be crated:
🐾 Medical Recovery (desexing etc)
🐾Fire Evacuation (most evacuation centres require dogs to be in crates)
🐾Toilet Training
🐾Safe haven when they feel scared
🐾Escaping from kids
🐾If dogs are fighting and need to be separated
🐾Transportation (flights or cars)
🐾Rest/Bed time
🐾If you are cleaning the house and need them out of the way
🐾If you take them on vacation like camping or anywhere away from your house, if you bring their crate/Safe haven they will be a lot less anxious and will know they are safe
But hear me out, when I say crate training I don't mean locking them in there all day every day, I mean having it open so they can come and go as they please, teaching your kids and/or guests if your dog is in the crate not to pat them or disturb so the dog knows that's their safe place when they are scared. Teaching them that a crate isn't a punishment makes life a million times easier and less stressful for both you and your beloved pooch when anything happens from the above list or anything else that may be out of the ordinary or may cause stress to your pooch
Our beloved CEO is a rescue pooch and when moving into a new family and living inside a home instead of being an outside dog full time, we knew there would be times where she was unsure and stressful for her so we decided to set up a crate so she could have a safe place to go when she was scared and it's the best decision we have ever made, once she's had enough she goes in their to get some rest 🥰

We have loved watching Brendon grow as a Dad, 2 months ago today he became a Fur Dad to Remi for the first time and 1 month ago today he became a Dad to our newest addition Kyra.
What did you do with your dad today to celebrate?
COVID UPDATE:
Due to the Perth & Peel region going into a 4 day lockdown we will be closing until lockdown is lifted to all services. Yes we can technically stay open as we full under the same category as a day care centre but mine and bubs health is our top priority at this point in time and can't be risking that.

Did you know we do airport transfers? Little Nala had a lay over in Perth on her way from the breeder to her new forever home. After a last minute flight cancellation yesterday, she finally arrived at her forever home this morning 🥰😍
With only 15 more days left until Day Care Closes temporarily 😭😭😭what things would you like to see from us?
I am so proud of these guys they have all come such a long way since coming to me. I am going to miss them so much, hopefully we can reopen again very soon, we will keep you all updated.
⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT⚠️
It is with heavy hearts I am writing this post, but due to unforeseen circumstances we have been forced to make the impossible decision of closing our Doggy Day Care. We will still be running our overnight pet sitting service, our daily check in service and adventure walks will be back up and running.
Please understand that this decision is out of our control and when things settle down a bit more we will be able to reopen our Day Care Service at an even bigger better location and provide even more loving care for your pooches.
The last day Doggy Day Care will be running is Friday April 23rd.

Did you know? We are open on Public Holidays!
Yes that's right, even when you have that sucky shift of working on a public holiday your pooch doesn't have to be board too. We understand that some people do have to work and so when we opened our Doggy Day Care last year we decided we didn't want the pups to miss out on fun just because it was a public holiday.

City of Stirling PARVO ALERT!
Please note to attend Dream Away Pet Services all dogs must be fully vaccinated this includes against Parvo. But if your dog has been to any of these locations and showing symptoms please do NOT take them anywhere in public and get them straight to the vet, call your vet before you arrive and let them know your pups symptoms.
ℹ️ Local parvovirus diagnosis
The City has been advised that a resident's puppy has recently been diagnosed with parvovirus. Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that affects unvaccinated dogs and puppies. The most common symptoms of parvovirus are nausea around food, vomiting and diarrhoea.
The puppy has visited the below locations within the City:
- Scarborough precinct (specifically Scarborough Sunset Markets)
- Jack Adder Lake Reserve
- Brighton Road Reserve
- Carine Open Space.
If you have visited any of these locations and your dog is experiencing similar symptoms to the above, please take them to your local vet for assessment.
This is a timely reminder to ensure their vaccinations are current and to review your pet insurance meets your requirements.

We had Dexter and Max spent last night and today with us. We had a nice lunch with them at home and went on a few little drives, celebrating not only Valentine's Day but also not having to wear our face masks (still staying safe of course though)🥳🥰

We have a massive backyard with a pool and have a max of 10 dogs a day. This helps with them not getting too overwhelmed, getting heaps of attention and also helps us be able to not only physically tire them out but also be able to mentally stimulate them.

🐾 Limit to one person per pick up/drop off

🐾No entry inside our premises all pick up and drops off's will be done outside
🐾No cash facilities will be available until further notice, eftpos facilities only
🐾If you or anyone in your house is unwell please get in contact with us ASAP before you come to drop off your pooch

As you are probably aware WA has been put into mandatory lock down for the next 5 days (1st - 5th Feb).
At this point in time we are not required to close but we will be going to contactless pick up and drop off to help keep everyone safe. If you are an essential worker or your pooch still requires day care please GET IN CONTACT ASAP, so we can discuss further our procedures to keep everyone safe.

Back in August 2020 he went in for a routine de-sexing surgery that didn't go quite to plan so his amazing Mum went on a search to find someone to look after her poor boy, why she worked to pay for all these medical bills. Well she came across my page and asked if I could help, of course I said yes and then one became two that became three dogs a day and before I knew it, I had to make it offical, I was going to do Doggy Day Care. Within 4 months I had gone from 1 dog (Dusty) to having 5-8 dogs a day.

DISEASE OUTBREAK THREATENS DOGS
A new deadly disease is threatening the lives of dogs around Australia. Canine ehrlichiosis is caused by a bite of a parasite called the ‘brown dog tick’. Australia was initially considered free of the disease, but now more than 300 dogs across Western Australia and the Northern Territory have been infected.
The disease causes fever, decreased appetite, lethargy and bleeding. Some dogs may also experience difficulty breathing and blindness. The bite can be potentially fatal for dogs, and owners may only notice the symptoms occurring in their dogs 2 weeks after being infected.
Dog owners are urged to look after their dogs, particularly in humid conditions where the ticks can live. A good tick collar or tick medicine is advised.
🐾Please note all dogs that come to Dream Away Pet Services must be vaccinated and up-to-date with Flea and Tick prevention. We also regularly brush the dogs and do quick checks for things such as ticks🐾
