Excellent work team Sandy. It is a pleasure working with a dedicated family keen to set Sandy up for success in her adolescent stage. Thank you for your trust in the process. We have used positive reinforcement, force free ethical dog training to engage Sandyās mind and strengthen the owner to dog bond. We have used classical conditioning, operant conditioning and counter conditioning learning to encourage Sandy to make good choices.

How can you tell when your dog is happy? When their tongue is hanging out and off to the side? Do they place their paw on your hand or foot? Do they lie on their back with 4 paws in the air? Do they do their zoomies or snuggle up close to you? Let me know. (Special thanks to Thor for the gorgeous photo).

If we as dog owners, only practice recall when itās time to put the lead on and go home, our dogs will associate ārecallā with āthe fun ends.ā
Letās change things around. Letās oscillate between recall and good times. Let me know how you go.
Just realised that I havenāt updated you very much on my fur kids. We have been busy. Good busy!! Here is my girl, Taffy, recalling to me, off lead, with distractions. There has been so much ātrainingā to get to this point. By ātrainingā I mean; PLAY & recall games, taking baby steps & assessing dog body language, addressing medical issues & physical check up, assessing fears & seeing VB, creating rituals & routines, watching the world (dogs, people) go by at a distance, crate training & mat training, help from other trainers, having no walk days, having parallel walks with friends, building trust & having FUN through POSITIVE reinforcement.
Spent time with my boy, Ted, watching the world go by. We watched; people, bikes, puppies and birds go by and we DID NOTHING! A big mistake we make, as dog owners, is wanting our dogs to be calm in different environments but not practicing this. Fortunately, my boy Ted reminds me. He was exhausted afterwards too!
Want your dog to recall back to you? It wonāt happen after one training session but it will happen. Letās focus on the wins.
When babies learn to crawl we give them space and time. We let them make mistakes and we reward the wins. We donāt ask for too much, too soon.
Letās set our pups up for success āļø Letās start our training at home, in the lounge room, in the carport, at the entrance to the park. Let me know how you go.
Showing off rocket recall. Excellent work team Bentley!

Great work team Alfred!! A fantastic effort from Alfredās owner to create positive associations with being on the mat. So much so that Alfred is happy to choose to be on his mat when a visitor arrives.
Why does positive reinforcement work?
** Because we are using science (physical response from the body via neurotransmitters) and learning theories (classical, operant and counter conditioning.
** Because our dogs are given agency; choice.

Why us? We treat your dogs as part of the family because fur kids are! We know how important it is that your dog is happy, safe, loved and cared for while you can't be there. Dogs are our passion, our full time job. Canine enrichment and safety are our top priorities.
What services do we offer? Doggie day care, dog walks, pet sitting and house visits.
Our Doggie Day Care service take place in Padbury/Hillarys area, the address will be given to you on booking. Your dog will be supervised 24/7 and the day will be structured to ensure plenty of canine enrichment, rest breaks, socialisation and cuddles. The dog have full access to inside and outside. Your dog can play on a large grassed area which is fully shaded, there are also paddling pools, sandpits and a doggie playground. There are sun lounges, leather couches, dog beds for snoozing. A full day of dog day care includes a group bush walk/coastal walk (only if owners consent). You will received photos and we will ensure there are regular rest breaks for the dogs to rest their legs, catch their breath, rehydrate, etc.
Our dog walks are GPS tracked so you can check where your dog was walked while you were at work. You will also receive photos and an update on how your dog went. A meet and greet is required (30mins) so we can discuss the level of exercise your dog needs, the lead/harness they use, any behaviours/allergies that we need to know about, etc. We will keep your dog on lead and the dog walk is 30-45 mins (depending on your dogās fitness level). We will ask you your preferred time range that we walk your dog and we will do our very best depending on bookings that day. If your dog is deemed suitable, we will walk them with other dogs too. We will alternate around different parks, trails, paths and reserves in your local area to ensure your dog is enriched with different sights and smells. We also add regular breaks for your dogs to sniff their surroundings, catch their breath, rehydrate and rest their legs.
On request (and depending on availability), we offer pet sitting/doggie holidays (24/7 care, your dog will be treated as part of the family). These services book up very quickly. We are take small groups to ensure your dog receives plenty of attention and a premium doggie holiday.
We also offer house visits to check on your puppy/dog at home (at your place) which is great when you work long hours and/or when puppy is settling in. To prevent your dog becoming bored when home alone, we can play with them, give them attention and ensure they have a clean environment, that they are safe and have fresh water etc.

Before your dog attends dog services with us:
Ensure your dog is healthy and happy. We can't accept dogs with contagious diseases or parasites. Ensure your dog doesn't have conjunctivitis, worms, fleas, kennel cough. If you are not sure, speak to your vet. Dogs need to be up to date with their preventative treatments.:- vaccinations, fleas, worms. We will ask you for a photo of your dogās vaccination certificate.
Let Wagging Tails know any other information that may be relevant to us caring for your dog. Perhaps, your dog attended the vet this month/has a medical issue? Are they scared of large dogs or perhaps, allergic to wheat? Have your vet details changed or perhaps their dietary needs have changed?
Your dog will need to attend a meet and greet (30mins) to assess your dogās temperament. We do not accept dogs that present with aggression.
Always arrive with your dog on lead. Ring the doorbell and meet us at the side gate entrance.
