Oakland Park resident Sessions is off to a successful start in November and he can sire another winner with Audio Boy in the And That's A Wrap Hcp (1200m) at Northam on Thursday. It’s the final race of the Northam season and Sessions also has Quick as Silver and No Bid engaged earlier in the Avon Valley. Audio Boy is a last-start Ascot winner for owner Geoff Bull and he appears well-weighted for Durrant Racing with 59kg. ...

Darren McAuliffe’s decision to sidestep a Northam maiden with War Matters last week and head straight to Ascot paid off in the Westspeed Platinum Hcp (1600m) on Saturday. War Matters was getting out to a mile for the first time and McAuliffe predicted he will keep improving over longer journeys. “This was a better option than Northam. The track was probably a bit too firm up there and he ran well here last month....

Raw Pearce Racing 3yo Southern Scandal gave his connections some anxious moments before ultimately justifying a $1.70 return when appearing first-up in the Debortoli Winemakers Hcp (1000m) at Northam on Thursday. The chestnut son of I’m All The Talk settled one-out and one-back before cruising into contention behind front-runner Apache Adios (Gingerbread Man). No sooner had caller Darren McAullay confirmed Chris Parnham looked confident than the short-priced favourite began racing greenly. ...

Jokers Grin stormed home in the Selangor Trophy (1000m) at Ascot on Saturday in what was a sign of things to come for trainer Bernie Miller and stable jockey Pat Carberry. The lightly-raced 4yo son of Alwyn Park stallion Maschino was rated a star of the future after completing a hat-trick during the Belmont winter season and Saturday’s first-up victory only served to emphasise he’s a black-type winner in waiting....

Super Smink is right back to her superb self following an outstanding victory in the G3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) at Ascot on Saturday. The Dan Morton-trained mare sat three-wide with cover before for Chris Parnham let her loose in the straight to defeat Luvnwar (War Decree) and Aztec Ruler (Universal Ruler). Super Smink (4m Super One - Sminky Shorts by Snitzel) was voted WA Champion 2YO in 2022-23 after completing a hat-trick in the RL Magic Millions WA Classic (1200m), G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) and G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m)....

Bravo Centurion stamped his authority on Perth’s sprinting division with a career-best performance winning the G3 Prince Of Wales Stakes (1000m) by a widening four-length margin at Ascot on Saturday. The Namerik Thoroughbreds graduate has won six in a row since a Belmont maiden in July including a black-type first in the LR Crawford Stakes (1000m) a fortnight ago. He turned the Group 3 into a one-act affair in front while clocking a sizzling 57.72s to distance the placegetters Saloon Bar (Sessions) and Crippalenko (Maschino)....

Dawson Stud started October with a winning double and finished the month with another brace when its Magic Millions graduates Cable Rock (Cable Bay) and Bopping Blue (Magnus) won at Belmont on Wednesday. Cable Rock (Photo / Western Racepix) scored first-up in the Wittens Irrigation Maiden (1200m) and that made amends for some narrow defeats earlier this year. Starting a $2.70 favourite, he eased around the heels of The Agency (A Lot) in the straight and then turned back the late bids of Romantic Ruler (Universal Ruler) and Spangledstar (Starspangledbanner)....

The highlight of this year’s Breeders’ Cup meeting is undoubtedly Coolmore Stud c**t City Of Troy (USA) and his bid to make history in the Group 1 Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (2000m) at Del Mar on Saturday. City Of Troy (3c Justify -Together Forever by Galileo) is the $3 favourite after drawing stall three on the dirt course for trainer Aidan O’Brien who has been trying to win a BC Classic since Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat) was beaten a neck by Tiznow (Cee's Tizzy) at Churchill Downs in 2000....

A Group 1 victory in the Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) has been an elusive goal for Red Can Man who will be contesting our premier sprint for the fifth time on November 30. The Steve Wolfe-trained gelding won the LR Fairetha Stakes (1400m) as a 3yo in 2019 but graduating to a Group 1 has been a bridge too far so far behind Elite Street (2020), Graceful Girl (2021), Paulele (2022) and Overpass (2023)....

Ain't No Other Man is the horse to beat in the Westspeed Platinum Series Final (1400m) on December 7 after an effortless Heat 1 victory at Ascot on Saturday. The Gingerbread Man gelding had been in work since June without winning before racing returned to Ascot earlier this month. That sparked an overdue win a fortnight ago and he doubled up after receiving the run of the race behind front-runner Chad's Me Dad (Universal Ruler)....

Playing God 3yo filly Nickelplay is the latest addition to Ridgeport Farm’s arsenal for the Ascot summer carnival following her impressive maiden win at Belmont on Wednesday. Trainer Neville Parnham liked her as a yearling and he’s already looking ahead with a black-type program targeting the G3 Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) on November 16. Visiting Irish jockey Amy Jo Hayes gave Lady Ducati a polished one-out, one-back ride to win the Goldfields Pest Control Hcp (1300m) at Kalgoorlie last Sunday. Hayes is here for three months during the northern winter and, despite a cosy cart in running, it wasn’t all plain sailing aboard Lady Ducati. Promising Ridgeport gelding Watch Me Rock has unleashed an eye-catching finishing burst to overhaul Madam Kisses (Rommel) right on the line at Ascot. Watch Me Rock looked anything but a short-priced favourite in Saturday’s Morley Growers Market Hcp (1400m) when spotting front-runner He’s Gold (Rogano) the best part of eight lengths at the top of the straight. “We knew he was capable of winning like that but we’ve held off adding blinkers,” co-trainer Alana Williams revealed. ...
