AUSTRALIAN POLOCROSSE NATIONALS 🐴 DAY 2

Polocrosse is an inclusive sport, no matter your age or ability, and on day two of the Australian Polocrosse Nationals - Chinchilla, QLD the sporting community let that value shine!

At just 10 years old, Patrick Galvin is one of the youngest players of the tournament. Alongside his family, Patrick travelled over 4,100km to represent Western Australia in the Sub Juniors.

Patrick’s polocrosse career began when he was five. He’s happiest playing in 1 and 3 – 3 being a favourite as he can stop the other team scoring. He loves being fed the ball and shooting goals – just like Jimmy Grills. He loves Grace, his horse for Nationals, because she loves playing 3 too.

The Galvin name is no stranger to polocrosse, Mum, Salli, played in Australia’s first World Cup in Warwick in 2003 and she too is playing at Chinchilla in the WA Open Mixed Team. And she’s still got it – taking out player of the match in the WA v NT game this morning.

The Galvin’s, like many families camping here at Chinchilla this week, consider polocrosse a way of life. Everyone loves it. Everyone breathes it. Everyone plays it - with Patrick’s brothers, Colum and Darragh both representing WA in the Juniors team.

This sport can let you see Australia. And the world!

The games start tomorrow with Patrick the youngest boys first game at 1 pm AEST .

We are fortunate to have an Australian International Polocrosse representative as our Owner and Founder! She has taught our instructors all she knows so they can professionally and skillfully lead our private or group polocrosse classes!

Private or Private Group Polocrosse Lessons are available Monday to Wednesday and Friday through Sunday at the time of your choosing. Lessons are tailored to suit each individual and their capabilities and are aimed at helping participants learn the sport or advance to the next level or grade. Our Group riding lessons are available 5 days a week and run for 1 hour with a maximum group size of 4 riders.

Trot Club is our beginners group lesson for children and is great for those just starting their riding adventure.
Monday: 3:30pm
Tuesday: 3:30pm
Wednesday: 3:30pm
Friday: 3:30pm
Saturday: 9:10am

For children with previous riding experience, Canter Club is tailored to a more intermediate rider.

Tuesday: 4:30pm

Gallop Club is for advanced children who are ready for more complex riding techniques.

Our Banquets are absolutely DIVINE, they are meticulously created locally. The only thing that could possibly top off an already wonderful adventure ride out is a delicious picnic with wine!

After your horse ride to the top of Bald Hill (views are spectacular!), return to the stables and feast on a tasty grazing board and enjoy a glass of local wine at our beautifully set banquet table. Relax and soak in the ambiance and our stunning setting while you delight in a homemade selection of local produce. This is a real treat, excellent for celebrating special occasions.

So my sons Colm Daragh Patrick and myself have all been selected to represent Western Australia at the Polocrosse Nationals in Chinchilla QLD in 3 weeks time .

So we have begun our journey across the Nullarbor to play some tournaments and the nationals the pink ladies team will be getting an airing at Narribri tournament ….in our newly refurbished ( blood sweat and tears ) semi trailer truck .

We have 6 Australian Stockhorses with us 2 of which we have bred . And we are loving and living life ….

Well if you don’t chase your dreams and do what you love with your family then what else is there to life hey ?😁

Stay tuned I will be posting our full trip which reiterates our slogan Horses are Good for the Soul .

Journey to becoming a Pink Lady.

"My journey to becoming a Pink Lady started at Jarrahdale Equestrian Centre in 2016 where I attended a Pony Camp and rode Belle- a familiar face at JE! I caught the “horse bug” and couldn’t get enough! Eventually I convinced my parents to get my own pony when I was 12 years old. I have my fondest childhood memories spend at JE with my pony- riding around the hills, learning heap’s from the pink ladies, and creating great friendships with other like-minded girls and boys. JE was my happy place!

My interests grew into showjumping and eventing which I still compete in to this day. I am so excited to now be a Pink Lady! A full circle moment! I am incredibly grateful to be able to teach people how to ride. All riders know how great riding is for the soul, so it is awesome to be apart of that and see everyone shine!"
