Thought this might help a few clients who might be considering having a DNA test done on their dog.

Database Quality: The accuracy of a dog DNA test largely depends on the size and diversity of the database it draws from. A larger and more diverse database increases the likelihood of accurate breed identification and genetic health screening. Some companies may have more comprehensive databases than others, so it's essential to research and choose a reputable provider with a robust database.

Collection, Storage, and Transport: The quality of the DNA sample collected from your dog can affect the accuracy of the test results. Saliva collection kits provided by DNA testing companies should include clear instructions on how to collect and store the sample properly to ensure the integrity of the DNA. Improper collection, storage, or transport may lead to degraded DNA and less reliable results.

Limitations: It's crucial to understand the limitations of dog DNA tests. For example, current DNA tests may not be able to detect Dingo DNA accurately, as Dingoes are a distinct species from domestic dogs.

Trick Training is a great way to build skills for both you and your dog, as well as having a lot of fun doing so. We have found that clients and dogs leave with better skills than when attending obedience classes, as the pressure of 'having to learn' is removed. All dogs of any age enjoy these classes, but of course, in group settings classes are best suited to well-adjusted sociable dogs. We have added more trick classes to our schedule and hope that we will see some of you very soon. PATS is directed by Charlotte Smithson. Charlotte is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and Animal Behaviourist, as well as the former Head Behaviourist at RSPCA WA. She has studied Animal Behavioural Science at the University of Sydney. She has been working with animals for three decades, and has operated successful animal welfare enterprises both in Australia and the UK.

I can not recommend Charlotte and her lovely team of girls highly enough. Their clicker training brings great results so very quickly with a fantastic side effect for me after thousands of semi squats.
