Dozer is a 7yr old sterilised male Ridgeback. Due to a change in family circumstances, he is looking for a loving home 🤞

He is great with kids, small animals, cats, and dog parks 🙌

Unfortunately, Dozer does not like to be alone and gets quite heartbroken. He would be the perfect companion for someone who is home full-time or for a home with an RR that needs a mate.

Dozer is lo ated in Busselton.

His loving Mum would like to receive an update periodically on how he's going as this is a tough decision for this family.

The RRCWA is raising much needed funds for the Rhodesian Ridgeback National Show to be held in Perth in October 2025.

Well it's that time of year again, the sun's starting to shine, we're all getting out and about with our pups and snakes are more likely to be about.

Over the cooler months snakes have been in state of brumation. This is very similar to hibernation and characterised by sluggishness and inactivity. As warmer conditions return both snakes and humans become more active in the outdoors, leading to an increased likelihood of interaction. This may happen when people are hiking, dog-walking or gardening.

The risk of being bitten by a snake is exceptionally small, but knowing basic first aid could potentially save your, or another person’s, life.

How true is this, we've had 5 Ridgebacks and we don't recall often calling them by their real name.

Our first girl was Bodene who obviously became Bo or Beautiful Girl, then there was Shaka better known as Wuck Wuck or Wucky and Zuri aka Missy Moo and now Woody who more often than not is Tiny Dog or TD and Marni who is either Baby Girl or Happy Feet.

Well here's some great news, I received the below as part of an email from Animal Ark Snake Avoidance Training for Dogs who were a generous sponsor of this year's show.

We were lucky enough to get to do this training with the team at Animal Ark last year before Woody and Marni ( Travelling Ridgees ) took off on their mighty road trip adventure.

Between this training, the snake avoidance they had completed previously and the IMDT First Aid Course we were pretty well prepared.
