Yesterday turned into a big day for one of our lovely clients. Luna came into clinic as her owner was suspicious that she may be pregnant.
Suspicion turned into reality when she went into labour in reception. The team was quick to act and over the afternoon helped deliver 9 healthy pups.
Luna was a great mum through the whole process and was helping to care for each pup as they arrived.
Well done to Luna, her owner and the team for a job well done 💕

Princess Charlie came in today for her annual vaccination and her injection to help with her Arthritis.

She definitely lived up to her name and waited like royalty for her turn to see the vet and enjoyed all her treats and cuddles 💕

Little Bah Bah is 8 days old and is orphaned and his lovely owner is hand raising him and wanted him checked over.
His jumper and collar were the perfect accessories for this little sweetheart 💕

🚨Our teams have been informed of a number of positive parvovirus cases both north and south of the river over the last few weeks 🚨

💉This serves as an important reminder to ensure that your dog is safe and up to date with their yearly vaccinations 🐶

If you’re unsure about your pet’s vaccination history, requirements or options, please feel free to give our teams a call and we can help! 📞

🦠 What is parvovirus? 🦠

Parvovirus is highly infectious, often fatal, disease that most commonly attacks the gastrointestinal tract of dogs.

Parvovirus is incredibly stable and therefore can remain in an environment for long periods of time and is easily transmitted via the feet of infected dogs, contaminated shoes or clothes. The main source of the virus is the faeces of infected dogs.

⚠️ Unvaccinated dogs or dogs whose vaccinations have lapsed and young puppies are most at risk.

👉🏻 Signs of parvovirus
- sudden onset bloody diarrhoea
- lethargy
- unwillingness to eat
- repeated episodes of vomiting

It’s important to note many infected dogs may not show every clinical sign.

If anyone ends up being evacuated from the fire in Bedfordale and needs somewhere for their animals please let us know, we have old stables and pens that we can provide for your dogs or small livestock to stay in.
If you have cats we can house them in clinic for you.
Unfortunately we are not open over the weekend but for cats we can go in and feed them for you and dogs and livestock you will be able to access the stables to feed them. Please note the stables are not used so are a little dusty but secure.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t end up with evacuations but the team want to help if it does

Beautiful Turtle came in for a torn nail and was such a good girl while we treated and bandaged her foot. She definitely deserved her brave patient certificate and the beautiful turtle art nurse same made for her bandage 💕

Curious George came into clinic yesterday as his adventures led to him injuring his foot. The team sutured his wound and then provided lots of cuddles while we waited for his carer to come collect him.
He was such a brave boy 💕
