Lastnight Perth said Goodbye to Perth Zoo's sweetest girl 'Tricia' the elephant.
Our hearts go out to everyone in the industry and everyone who had a personal connection with Tricia herself that got to work with the beauty each and every day.
She may have not been anyone's personal pet, but we all loved her as an amazing icon of Perth Zoo

01/04/2022

With Easter right around the corner now is a good time to refresh on the Doโ€™s and Dontโ€™s of Easter with our furry friends. As chocolate toxicity is one of the main causes of unwanted vet trips around this holiday period!

DO
- Secure your pets away during Easter egg hunts where chocolates and treats are placed in easy reach of pets
Example - backyard, front yard, kitchen and bedrooms/ family areas where the pets have access too
- offer dog safe treats during the weekend festivities (doggy safe peanut butter, Greek yogurt, fresh produce - apples, watermelon, carrots etc)
- Keep all goodies in a secure place not accessible to pets
( high up cupboard or fridge) not on bench tops in bedrooms and pantryโ€™s that are easily accessed

โ€œOut of sight is not out of smell! Think like a dog at Easter, how would you search for chocolate if you were a dog?โ€

DONTโ€™T
- Feed pets during meal times, avoid foods such with fat & fatty off cuts, onions, garlic, bones, grapes, foods on sticks/skewers and avocado or mushrooms.
- โ€œa little wonโ€™t hurtโ€ mentality chocolate of any amount can be harmful to dogs and household pets dependant on the amount of cocoa found in each chocolate product
- Leave treats and food products around where accessible to pets kitchen benches and pantryโ€™s are easiest access for our furry friends trying to pinch a snack during the Easter long weekend

Signs to look out for if you believe your pet has eaten sweet treats or potentially harmful food items

- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- Increased urination
- Fast heart rate

Wishing you all a happy and safe Easter from everyone here at the Belridge Vet Team ๐Ÿฃ

COVID-19 Clinic Update
Due to new COVID-19 cases within the local surrounding areas, for the health and safety of our staff and clients we have set NEW clinic protocols.
As much as we appreciate everyoneโ€™s understanding and co-operation over the last 2 years with the global pandemic we are now forced to make some more changes.
We at Belridge Vet have been lucky enough to be able to run smoothly as a regular GP clinic all throughout the pandemic, but now we will be tightening our rules.

As of TODAY Tuesday 15th February new procedures in place at Belridge Vet will include;
- ALL clients MUST wait to be greeted at the door by a nurse (a bell will be placed by the door).
- We are only allowing 1 person in the clinic per animal.
- MAXIMUM of 3 people in clinic at 1 time (All in separate zones).
- No mask? No entry. No exemptions accepted. (If you have an exemption our vets are more than happy to see and treat your animal outside of the clinic).

Also due to shipping delays and supply shortages please ensure;
- You allow 48hrs for the dispensing of all medication.
- If your pet is on prescription medication that you have at least 2 weeksโ€™ worth of supply. (In case we experience more supply shortages/or if an outbreak occurs and we must close clinic doors).
- If your pet is on a prescription Diet please notify our staff 1 WEEK prior to your pet needing more food.

With the ongoing pandemic these policies can/will change at any moment.

Please ensure face masks are worn properly, above the nose. This is for the safety of our staff and all the amazing clients we get to see each and every day.

No harassment or abusive behaviour will be tolerated towards our staff throughout these times with new policies being put in place.

We hope you all understand.

All updates will be posted to our page.

22/01/2022

***UPDATE***

Power is back on as per usual.

Thank you for all patience this morning.

**POWER OUTAGE**

Unfortunately this morning we are experiencing a power outage at the clinic.
We are unable to gain access inside the clinic until power comes back on.

At this moment in time we do NOT have an estimated restoration time.

We do apologise for any inconvenience.
We will keep you all posted ๐Ÿคž
