For a very sad reason I have been reminiscing on my childhood and early adulthood. It is amazing how many experiences we have throughout our lives, but we never think those experiences will come to an end. We think we are invincible and If you are like me, you need at least another 30 years to complete all the to do things on my list, not to mention the bucket list!!

I can only hope I will get those 30 more but for some that is not going to be the case! When reflecting on this and knowing some will be granted a much shorter stay on earth, I have to ensure I make the most of my time! Time is such a precious gift and a wealth beyond measure! Yet we often treat it like its nothing, a never-ending bounty!!

Money can be made or lost, love can be made or lost but time can only be lost, never made!! It is therefore your responsibility to not squander it, use to your advantage and saviour it for the reward it is!

I remember seeing a movie about a futuristic time where the rich could buy time from the poor. They got younger while the seller got older!! How I wish I could buy some people more time, but I can’t! NO doubt there is a bigger picture why some go faster than others and we will never know why!

What we do know though, is time is such huge currency and you should use it to build the life you want now, not tomorrow because tomorrow may never come!! Stop procrastinating on whatever it is you are and just do it!!

Today on a coaching call we had to admit to what was holding us back from just going all in!!

I really had to think about it! Some said they lacked confidence, others lacked ideas, some were lost and others knew exactly what they were NOT doing!!

I know exactly what I am not doing!! Its two things:

First, I am afraid to be seen, I tell myself I am not but deep down I am. I don't aspire to beauty, fame or popularity but I do want to be accepted for who and what I am. Amongst my tribe I am comfortable and secure, but to the unknown, I like most if us are terrified of rejection or being the butt of the joke !! I work daily to fight these demons and although they do not inhibit me in doing everything I want, they do stop me from being even more amazing!!

Perfect example, I nearly didn't go snorkelling with a new group of like minded people because in my "nightmare" I turn up on the beach to a group of bikini clad supermodels (not that there is anything wrong with super models) and they just look at me and wonder what I am doing there! I pushed through those self sabotaging beliefs and went anyway!! I had the best time!!

My message with this one is your imperfections are your perfections!!

Secondly, I am scared to put myself out there and befriend new people or join conversations online with like minded people in case they reject me, call me out or think I am a fraud!! Funny thing is this never actually happens, it's mostly in my head! Pushing your self out of your comfort zone is the only way to challenge yourself and grow as an individual.

I am committed to pushing forward with this one. I have something to say, something to contribute and I like everyone deserve to be heard. You have the choice to listen or not but not to silence me!! Personal growth is probably the most challenging thing I have embarked on recently, but with every step forward I feel freer and more solid in my being and purpose!

The message here is be yourself, never stop trying to connect with others and remember your tribe will find you, so keep calling out!!

I am a teacher, that is my career and with years of experience and an unwavering love for teaching, I found myself at a crossroads, a pivotal moment that would redefine my life in 2022.

I, like many professional women, had built a successful career. Yet, amidst the accolades and accomplishments, I couldn't ignore the toll this job was taking on my personal life. Days blurred into nights, and weekends seemed to slip through my fingers like grains of sand. The classroom had become both my sanctuary and my cage.

But within this struggle, I discovered a community of like-minded women who were ready to rewrite their stories. These women shared a common dream, to break free from traditional employment and embrace a lifestyle that prioritised family, hobbies, and travel.

Not only did I start a new business to expedite my retirement, but I also embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I have plunged deep into personal growth, working hard to rid myself of old self sabotaging beliefs and to learn how to best maximise my investment in myself.

Today I did a thing and I am so glad I made myself accountable and did it!!

I went snorkelling with a group of people I don't know but we all share a love of the ocean!

It was awesome and I met a couple of new people and saw lots of amazing sea creatures!!

The point of this point is that you have to push out of your comfort zone or you may just miss out!

I wanted to sleep in and stay in my house but that doesn't get anything done. Pushing through the uncomfortableness is the only way to challenge and grow yourself!!

This is a lesson just not for snorkelling but for life!!

If you don't push your boundaries, you will only miss out!!

I am planning to get out of my comfort zone tomorrow!!😁

I belong to a Perth snorkelling group on FB and they are always having meet ups etc for a snorkel. Well tomorrow they have one and I think I might go!!

I don't know anyone personally but it's a great way to meet like minded people. Lets hope they are not all bikini clad super models!!

So I thought if I wrote here, I will have to go because you are all going to ask me about tomorrow afternoon and it will be super embarrassing to say I didn't go!!

I hope I live up to my own challenge!! fingers crossed!!

The other day someone at school asked me how long I had been teaching!!

Well the answer is 24 years and 19 of those at the same school!

But guess what I still get nervous and self conscious every time I start a new year or have a class for the first time!

Those same self limiting beliefs enter my head!

Will the kids like me?
Will I look, speak, dress the way that makes me likeable and normal?
Will I teach ok, will they learn from me?
Will I live up to parents and admins expectations?
Will I be THAT teacher that they love or hate and tell all their friends about?

Funny how this imitates life in general! where ever I go, I think the same questions enter my head! whether at school, at a party, when travelling, working with colleagues!!

Why do we worry so much what others think of us? (especially a 12 yr old) but we do! I suppose it's human nature and we have all be isolated or left out or made fun of at some time in our lives!

The older you get, the better you are at hiding it but it's still there! we all want to be accepted and be NORMAL!!

I have come to the realisation , that I am a work in progress and I am only going to get better with age!! so watch this space 🤣🤣
