It is highly likely that Office of Fair Trading and Dogs NSW will not approve the ongoing appointment of interstate members being on the Committee of the BSDCNSW for the following club year.
The 2021-22 Committee is made up of many interstate members as well as a small core of NSW resident members. Kudos to those that stepped up to help the club out in a time of need to prevent it folding due to lack of a committee.
The club is holding it's AGM after the Specialty Show in September, and has already finished the end of financial year with all memberships for 2021-22 now expired and requiring renewal. This can be done at www.showmanager.com.au Please join, if you have not already done so. Please renew, if you were a member for the 2021-22 year. The club needs members!
If you are a NSW resident, and have skills to share, the current committee is very welcoming to prepare you to for taking over the major roles currently being done by interstate members. That being President, Secretary and Assistant Secretary in particular. Other committee positions such as Treasurer, Vice President and Show Secretary currently being done competently by NSW residents, who really need the help and support of fellow NSW residents to step and help them to run their own club entirely with NSW members at the helm.
The club also seeks a publicity officer, who can source educational material and share several items per week on the page (this can be scheduled for many months in advance).
ITS NOT JUST ABOUT SHOWS. The 2021-22 committee has changed things to encompass providing activities for non-show people to attend. Such as fun day meet ups, with more social events planned going forward. The page in 2021-22 was populated with many educational postings and updates - so the club is now also about education as well as social events.
In 2023, the club is planning a SPORT DOG WEEKEND, with many sport competitions on offer for clever Belgian Shepherds to enter - Trick Dogs, Obedience, Rally O, Endurance, Agility, and any other ANKC sports that we can find assistants to run. We are calling out for an Event Coordinator to pull this all together. If you are from the dog sport world, we'd love to hear from you and what you can contribute to running this inaugural event.
Our 2022 Champ Show coordinators are putting together a raffle to be drawn on show day, 10/09/2022. We are calling for members and the general public to sponsor prizes, by way of donation of gifts towards a hamper, or gift vouchers for your business. If you can help out towards the raffle please let us know.
This is a huge post requesting many things of many people. Thankyou for taking the time to read this through, and we hope that all NSW Belgian Shepherd owners will pull together to get this club back fully in NSW resident hands.
Once again, a HUGE thank you to all the interstate members who helped out in a rush to save the club when insufficient NSW members were able to come onto the Committee. Without you, there would be no club this year, no 2022 show, no 2023 show, no 2023 Sport Dog Weekend, and no fun day meet ups for Belgian Shepherds in NSW.
