Today, we’re looking back to the 2016 Rio Olympics, where JPR Equestrian’s own James Paterson-Robinson represented Australia on the world stage!

Competing against the best in the world, James and his partner Amarillo showed the heart, dedication, and determination that define JPR Equestrian.

It was a proud moment not just for James, but for all of us at JPR, inspired by his commitment and passion that continues to shape our training philosophy today.

We love reliving our unforgettable moments—and creating new ones!

: Master the course walk!

Walking a course is more than just counting strides—it’s about truly understanding the track ahead. When you’re out there with your coach and fellow riders, take the time to visualize your approach to each jump. Pay attention to the distances, turns, and how the ground might affect your horse’s stride. Consider where you’ll need to ride forward, where to collect, and how to handle tricky combinations.

A well-planned ride starts with a smart course walk, so take your time, ask questions, and build your strategy. The more you prepare here, the smoother your round will feel in the arena.
