I love spring, the smell of the fruit blossoms, the native bees nests, and just being able to hear the buzz of activity from the native wild life.

The meeting space has been given a spruce up with a new flat space for acro yoga or anything else we desire like a dance floor!

A bit of earthworks sadly meant we had to take down some trees but we have already started re planting the bank with midyim berries, native violet, lemongrass banksias and even cucumbers! Can't all be for the birds, speaking of birds every time our chickens escape they insist on pulling up my seedlings grrr!

Anyway enough out of me 💐

Yay, guys! Enough to feed a whole neighbourhood!

As someone who goes hiking every other day after working, there are three key things I need to be wary of. First, keeping hydrated. Second, keeping my skin moisturized and protected from harmful UV rays. Lastly, I need to make sure I give my body adequate rest and allow it to heal. Fairly straightfo...

Awesome, now I have a better use for these bags.

Will you just look at this. It's made out of plastic grocery bags. It's a crotchet mat for the homeless. Several of our Senior residents made these. They are soft thick and warm for those cold nights. Made for beautiful feet. It takes a full 24-48 hours to make one. I am just amazed at how these are used to help those in need. I will never look at a grocery Sack like this again.

Put it to a good use guys

Maddy Harland tells the story of the Shona African community who healed their damaged ecosystems. They restored their springs, rebuilt their soil, regenerated their agriculture and alleviated poverty and malnutrition. Permaculture farming has proven effective all over the planet.

Hi there to all the friends of happy hippie permaculture farm, I am sad to inform you that one of our gorgeous little chickens, baby doll, was taken by the neighbors dog last night. This is a very sad day as this same dog has taken chickens from us before the last time we lived here, and now it knows we have chickens again, does anyone have any suggestions on how we can approach this situation with the neighbours as last time they denied that it was their dog

So we have been upgrading our chook pen and we have used a donated frame, recycled tin roof offcuts, and the wire from the old chook pen create this! We have also included guttering on one side to catch rain water for the chooks and the gardens. Just a little bit to finish and happy days for our girls.

Cheers Luke Vilkas for your addition :-)

So we have started raising seeds on a small scale. I have learned how to make the most amazing seed raising mix, and raise seeds using methods taught to me by some amazing people. As you can see I have recycled toilet paper rolls for my seed tubes, this allows you to plant the whole thing in the ground reducing the effects of transplant shock.

Here's how I do it:
1~ First u plant your seeds in a raising mix full of compost, vermiculite and perlite, this s*x mix will generate heat to aid in germination
2~ then u add your seeds and cover them, with love, don't forget to talk to them at this stage :-)
3~ water your little babies with a watering can using an organic product such as our local favorite Dr grow it all or another favorite of mine is organix harvest fertiliser concentrate
4~ now u need to cover them up in some sort of blanket, we use black plastic on a larger scale but for now I am using an upside down black gold pan. This process also aids in heat generating, but mainly this encourages strong root growth after germination.
5~ finally after 3days uncover your seedlings to add light, now you will begin to see your seedlings begin to pop up
Easy!

Message me if you have any questions, I would be glad to help

I would like to share some background information on the amazing country I have my feet on right now. My husband Bo and I have taken over His Grandparents Family Farm in the Noosa Hinterland town of Pomona. Bo's Grandad bought the property after selling up their self sufficient farm lifestyle in Kallangur but he brought with him all the knowledge he had. The block when it was first bought used to be an old nursery with open paddocks and two large camphor laurel and mango trees. He planted out fruit and nut trees and even kept bees in his specially built shed. They say that the crops of our grandparents are reaped by the grandchildren and in our case this is true. Since then, bless their souls, our grandfather has passed away and our grandmother is no longer able to tend to the property. We have recently been given an amazing opportunity to turn what is currently overgrown back into the lush self-supporting permaculture paradise that was intended to be thanks to our grandparents.

So many moons ago fruit trees were planted however proper care was not given to the poor saplings. After several months (not even finished yet!! :-)) of removing weeds such as singapre daisy, lantana, cassia and desmodium I can now see that I have two mandarin trees, three strawberry guava trees and a lychee tree hiding under all those weeds. Oh dont forget there is a tiny little macadamia that was so smothered he was only a foot tall, he now has sunlight and mulch
