✨ 2026 Client Applications Update ✨

We’ve officially sorted through over 350 applications this weekend! To keep everything fair and transparent, we’re scheduling next year’s bookings in two stages:

1️⃣ Preferred Groomer
If you’ve selected a preferred groomer, your application will first be sent to them so they can prioritise their regular clients and those they work with most often.

2️⃣ Grooming Frequency & Maintenance Needs
Next, we’ll move through applications based on grooming frequency. Dogs that require more regular maintenance (such as oodle breeds or those with higher coat-care needs) will be prioritised first to make sure their coats stay healthy, comfortable, and tangle-free all year round.

We’ll continue filling our schedules as much as possible until all available spaces are taken. Once we reach full capacity, clients on longer grooming frequencies will be placed on a waitlist in the meantime and we’ll do our best to offer a spot if any openings become available.

We’re so grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding while we carefully finalise our 2026 bookings. Thank you for supporting our little team and helping us continue to give your pups the love and care they deserve 🤍✨

We’ve had quite the giggle going through all the 2026 applications this week… it seems half of Port Kennedy thinks Jess and Katie are the same person! 👯‍♀️✨

Between the name swaps, mix-ups and “who’s who” moments, it’s safe to say we’ve entered our twin era. We’ve seen everything from “Katie, you’re my favourite!” on Jess’s notes to “I only want Jess” on Katie’s and we’re over here trying not to cry laughing while sorting them all out. 😂

Don’t worry, every form is being checked carefully so each pup ends up with their actual chosen stylist!

Thank you all for the laughs, the love, and the support while we piece everything together, it’s been a hilarious reminder of how loved our team really is. 🥹🤍

The time has come! Our 2026 client applications are officially live!

Every grooming client who would like to be on a regular booking schedule in 2026 is required to complete the application form.

This process allows us to:
🤎Collect updated details about you and your pup
🤎Share our new availability, packages & pricing
🤎Ensure bookings are fair and transparent with high demand

Applications have been sent to existing clients via text message

Please remember:
✔️ Every application will be read with care
✔️ Clients must commit to an 8-week or less grooming schedule
✔️ Pricing starts at $115 for a small full groom from 2026

We know this is a change, but it ensures we can continue providing the luxury, specialised grooming experience Golden Waves is known for. For those not continuing with us, we’ll support you with grooming reference cards and recommendations to trusted local groomers.

As part of our lead-up to 2026 applications opening next Wednesday, October 1st, we want to share our updated price list with you ahead of time. At Golden Waves, we believe in complete transparency! That means no hidden fees and no surprises when it comes to your pet’s grooming.

We also know that talking about pricing can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but we want to reassure you: our pricing reflects the high-quality products we use, the advanced skills we have developed, and the luxury standard of care we are committed to providing.

If you would like a personalised quote based on your dog’s previous services with us, you’re very welcome to text us on 0423 499 730 with your full name and your dog’s details. We’ll be happy to review your history and provide a tailored estimate so you can feel confident before submitting your 2026 application.

✨ An Update on 2026 Applications ✨

We’d like to clear up a little confusion around the upcoming application process. This isn’t about turning clients away, it’s about gathering more information, being transparent, and working through the very high demand at our salon.

At the moment, we are over capacity. Savannah and Katie have been working weekends and late nights to keep up, but moving into the new year that simply won’t be possible. Katie’s little girl will be starting school, and with three weddings (and honeymoons!) to plan in 2026, therefore our availability will change.

Alongside this, our pricing and packages will also be updated to keep up with industry standards, our competitors, and the costs of running a small business at a high standard. From 2026, the minimum price for a small full groom will be starting from $115 (this does not include extra costs such as behaviour, de-matting, ect.)

We also want to be transparent:

🐾The high demand for our specialised skills means that moving into 2026, our new packages and pricing will no longer focus on regular short/basic clips. Golden Waves is a premium, specialised salon, and our priority will remain on luxury spa and skin care services and skilled styling that truly reflect the quality of our products, tools, and advanced techniques.

🐾For families who prefer simple maintenance clips, we are still happy to provide this service, but we understand our updated pricing may not suit every budget. Because of this, we’ll also be supporting and recommending wonderful local groomers who prioritise these services and are looking to grow their client base. This way, every pup continues to receive the care they deserve, whether with us or through another trusted professional. ✨

We know these are big changes, and we appreciate your understanding more than we can say. 🤍 The application process is here to make things fair and organised for everyone, and to ensure that when 2026 rolls around, your pup’s grooming experience is still of the highest standard possible.

Applications for 2026 open next month ✨

We’re beginning our countdown and want to be as transparent as possible with you all and due to high demand, we can’t take every client with us into next year.

Dogs needing specialised, luxury coat care will be prioritised, while those who require more basic styles may need to transition to another trusted local groomer. But please know this decision is never about value it is about ensuring we can deliver the very best in what we specialise in.

We’ll support every client, no matter what, with resources to make this as smooth as possible. We will support every client through this transition by:

🤍 Preparing Grooming Reference Cards with full coat history, summer/winter style notes, and care details
🤍 Providing a list of trusted local groomers who we recommend wholeheartedly
🤍 Offering guidance to ensure your pup continues receiving the style and care they’re used to

These are tough decisions, but our promise is that every client will feel supported, whether continuing with us or transitioning smoothly to another professional.

What a way to wrap up the week. ✨
Watching Jessica take out 1st place in the Salon Freestyle category at the model dog competition (on her very first attempt) was an unforgettable moment.

Both Jess and I entered the model dog ring for the first time this week, and i couldn’t be more proud. It takes guts to step into something new, put your work on display, and trust your hands. And we both showed up with courage, creativity, and heart, and Jess walking away with a win was just the icing on the cake.

Proud is an understatement. Watching my team grow, take risks, and celebrate each other is the biggest reward I receive as a salon owner! Proud doesn’t even cover it! I’m in awe 🥹

A massive thank you to the judges , and you have all been an inspiration and we have valued all our time with you and look forward to learning more in the future!
