The solid body lap slide starts to take shape with Blackwood highlights on a Huon Pine body. Now to make some Blackwood veneer strips to use as false frets and cut out some dots for markers.

Finally back in the workshop building guitars….It’s been a long journey but all the changes to the shed make a huge difference. Workshop tour to come in the next few weeks. Meanwhile the new lap slide is back on the bench

After a nearly two year hiatus I’m hoping to resume building in 2025. Part of the preparation has been organising and manufacturing new workspaces in the shed. Today marks the completion of the new outfeed/assembly table. Next in line is a new mitre station and more storage. Hope to have a guitar on the bench by February.
