“Dog training isn’t complicated” However it doesn't need to be, with the correct guidance it can be a lot less stressful more enjoyable and very rewarding. Training shouldn't be frustrating for you or your dog, they are not complic

ated animals, its humans that make it seem so. They are instinctive, opportunistic, predators even the cute little ones. If you let them, they will take advantage of you very quickly. Without a leader it is not clear what is expected of them. Everything should be binary, they can, or they can’t, no grey areas this is what creates issues. Dogs don’t take things personal when you ask something of them. They respect, understand, and need authority in their life. This is what keeps control of the pack & you have to be the leader. Being a former Military Police Dog Handler I have trained dogs to an exceptionally high standard. These methods are what I use to teach you how to train your own dog. The key to good training and handling is understanding how to communicate on your dog’s level. This is something I will teach you, and after mastering this, the responses and bond with your dog will improve exponentially.

I am very proud of this awesome group of participants on my first real world advanced obedience program. You all made massive progression over the 5 weeks.

This is a very challenging program. The focus is to give owners the skills to train their dogs to a level that in all real world environments they will know how to manage them and have high-level obedience.

Today was the completion of the program and they were put through a range of tests to assess themselves and their dogs. After eight weeks, there is another level of tests that will have to be uploaded as video to complete the program.

As some owners found out today, dogs can be challenging at certain times, welcome to the world of Dog training. It doesn’t always go as planned.

This is something I often talk about to people not to get caught up in 10 second clips you’ll see on social media of dogs doing perfect exercises because this is not the real world. You don’t know how many attempts that trainer made with that dog to get the perfect clip.

19/12/2024

in this live I talk about.
- What it takes to manage a Doggy Daycare yard.
- how we manage Dog behaviour to reduce the likelihood of any altercations between dogs.

16/12/2024

In this live I talk about.
- my opinion on letting a dog be in front of you on your walks.
- the patience and consistency it takes to get your dog to a high-level of obedience.

Plus, I bring up a few random topics that I never intended to.

Hope this live chat teaches you something and I always appreciate when people share it.

In this live chat, I am aiming to educate the public on the rights of access to Assistance dogs either in training or certified. Also the rights of trainers to accompany the owners of these dogs to either train them in public places or certify them when doing their public access test.

This video is not about me as a Dog trainer or who I work for. It is purely an educational video in the hope of having it shared to help people better understand the rights of the owners and trainers of these dogs.

In this live chat, I talk about:
Force free positive only VS balanced trainers, what is the difference, pros and cons and more.

The purpose of the conversation is not to attack any one side it is to hopefully educate people on the nuances of training styles before we give strong opinions about something we don’t know.

Wow, another 3 programs done. When I see these photos it makes me very proud to realise how many owners I am helping with their dogs.

I have been running 3 programs every 5 weeks for the last few years. That’s a lot of dogs.

Congratulations to all owners who completed the program you did amazing during the five weeks.

Thank you for allowing me as your trainer to help you with your furry friend.

I will be conducting a real world advanced obedience program beginning Wednesday, November 20th.The purpose of this program is to advance your dogs current level of obedience to a level that you can control them on lead and off lead beside you and at a distance along with other advanced obedience exercises. This program is ran over six lessons, 5 of them will be at my training facility and one of them will be on a Saturday morning which is a 90 minute session. During this final session we will conduct a test of your dogs skills. To pass the program you’ll have to demonstrate these exercises to a proficient level along with others that I will require video footage of. To join this program, your dog has to have previous skills that can be demonstrated. I have a YouTube video where I demonstrate what your dog needs to know as a minimum to join.

Below is a link to the YouTube video demonstrating the skills needed to join the program.https://youtu.be/Cp1qf_5_obU?si=T5SAEPtu6cywVvqDAs

All bookings will be online through the website by creating a profile after hitting book now.

In this live chat i give general dog training advise.

In this live chat, I talk about:
- Be careful about labelling your dog reactive when it is nothing more than instinctive.
- research who you go to to help you with your reactive dog as a lot of trainers think they can deal with reactivity. But in reality They’ve only helped people with excitable dogs or dogs that simply haven’t been trained with good basic obedience.

BOMB PROOFING SEMINAR

This Bomb Proofing seminar is designed to help dog be confident in all environments they may encounter.

Without exposing your dog to a wide range of things when they are young you are possibly setting your dog up to suffer from reactivity, anxiety and fear due to lack of confidence.

Do you have a dog that is:
- anxious in some environments
- scared of some sounds
- reactive when they see something new like skate boards, prams or maybe fluorescent uniforms
- nervous to walk over some surfaces

Would you like your dog:
-Relaxed in a wide range of environmental settings
-Conditioned to hearing varying sounds
-Confident when encountering different surfaces and obstacles
- Not react in a negative way to people they don't know

WHO CAN JOIN
This seminar is open to all dogs. If your dog is extremely anxious and reactive please consult with Jason first on 0466234421 to assess whether it is suitable for them to attend.

WHERE
This seminar will be conducted at Jason Harris Dog Training facility 12 Denham street Port Macquarie

WHEN
Saturday September 7th

COST
It is $50

Time?
8:30am to 10:30am - this seems like a long time but there will be plenty of rest times and there is practical and theory elements. We also want to give them plenty of time between exercises, so we don't overwhelm them.

HOW TO BOOK
1. Go to www.jasonharrisdogtraining.propetware.com
2. Create a profile for your dog if you don’t have one already
3. Hit the book now button then group classes and seminars
4. Click your dogs name then scroll down to Puppy bomb proofing seminar

This seminar will be done in three phases:

1.Textures/obstacles - your dogs will complete a course that has several different surfaces and obstacles to walk over or through. Through positive reinforcement and encouragement your puppies will quickly gain confidence to make their way through the course.

2.Sounds - exposing your puppy to different sounds in a controlled manner is going to help desensitise them too these things. By doing this at a young age, it can help your Puppy get conditioned to different sounds, so it is not something that scares them as easily later in life.

3.Distractions/objects stationary and moving - this section of the seminar will expose your puppy too things like bikes, scooters, uniforms and a wide range of different objects they may encounter as they age.

By doing all this in a controlled environment while slowly building intensity over time it will acclimate your puppies to many different stimuluses. Then with owners continuing to do this sort of training regularly you are going to develop your puppy’s confidence exponentially.

As a dog owner you want them to have good recovery when they experience something that surprises them. This means it's ok that they react to something but it's vital that they recover quickly and get on with things like it never happened.

I’m excited to help you train your dog to be the most confident independent Dog they can be.
