Oysters were harvested this afternoon and are sold live/unshucked. We have handmade knives for sale and are happy to give you a demo on how to shuck.

Lots of fresh local produce on offer at the wauchope market, hope to see you there 🙂

Hey guys Port Oyster Company here, - CASH REWARD for information - long shot but we are looking info/leads on over $10’000 of damage caused on our oyster leases last night in limeburners creek.

Someone has smashed one of our pontoons in half driving in the dark or under the influence or both. This is a 4 knot / no wake zone and to smash through 5 heavy duty cross joints the boat was obviously speeding recklessly. We suspect the boat could be a v-hull around 5 metre mark. This is a pretty decent smash I would be suprised if no one was injured or their boat is not seriously damaged.

We put a lot of work into growing oysters and battle the elements every season to provide for our family’s, every year we have damaged leases from boaters who don’t know the rules, don’t know where they are going or simply just don’t care and we have to wear the cost of their reckless unsafe behaviour.

Got your oysters sorted for Christmas yet? Get your orders in now!
Fresh from our beautiful Hastings river.

HOW TO ORDER:
Simply DM us with your name, amount, phone number and preferred pick up location.
Unshucked oysters only.

IMPORTANT - oyster storage and info- please do not store your unopened oysters in the fridge, it is too cold and you will kill them! Oysters are fine to eat 10 days from harvest date if kept cool at room temperature out of the sun. Store in the laundry on tiles or garage concrete floor, esky etc. on hot days we recommend wrapping them in a wet towel.

if you find an oyster that has opened up and died this does not mean your bag is spoiled or unsafe to eat. Like you and me, oysters are all individuals and some are simply confused opening up waiting for the tide to come back in! It is not uncommon to find 1 or 2 in your bag, which is why we do bakers dozen (13) to compensate for this.

Thank you to these legends who volunteered their time, vehicles, trailers and muscles to collect any oyster growers equipment that was washed away and salvageable. They scoured the beaches, canals that they could access. All the oyster growers know their own trays, racks etc so we will get what was saved returned to them. Everyone doing a bit helps so much in the recovery 🙌 legends Liam, Finn, Eli, Ebony .
