Today was a wonderful day. I was contacted by a lovely family in crystal brook who had a nice sized swarm whom had settled in a tree in their yard.

It was a fairly easy collection and by this afternoon the bees seemed happy with their new home. Here's to hoping they settle in fast. They have some wonderful golden colours and calm temperament and Only one sting.

Our girls are back on the lay with the warm weather setting in we have an abundance of fresh free ranged butt nuggets.

Due to an increase in feed costs the price per dozen will increase this laying season. Our $1 discount still applies to returned cartons.

Unfortunately we won't be able to supply duck eggs this summer. A very crafty mother fox decided to break in to our pens to teach her young ones. While I'm not mad a nature taking its course I am saddened by our loss and will be hatching and retaining all suitable stock to boost our numbers back up.

Anko sweet bean paste.

Anko is a sweet paste made from adzuki beans and is a popular filling for rice cakes or steamed dumplings in Japanese cuisine.

It is unusual but very pleasant and works well as pie or tart fillings with a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Turkish delight jam, is finally here!

Another long awaited product to become available. Our turkish delight jam has finally passed our taste testing. With a Quince base with rose water added this jam is very similar to the classic turkish delight many have come to love. Naturally coloured with fresh red rose petals for extra fancy flare.

It's finally here!! Comfrey balm.

Cold pressed comfrey oil, blended with coconut oil and bees wax. With the addition of Arnica oil for pain relief and Tea tree for antiseptic.

$5 per jar. A little goes a long way.

This balm will assist in the healing of many ailments and injuries. Comfrey is known as the healing herb. Assisting in mending broken bones and fading skin blemishes. Arnica oil is commonly used for muscular pain relief and healing bruises. Tea tree is a good antiseptic and prevents infection.

We have decided to down size on our current number of laying chickens. This is due to little interest in our rainbow egg range and as such these girls are how available for new homes.

We have 6 hens in total ranging in ages from 1 year to 2 years old. They each lay a unique coloured egg including olive and blue.

The 6 includes 2 bantam frizzles, 3 Easter eggers and one australorp.

Total price for them all is $60 or they are $15 each.

Just wondering, Is there any interest in mead or fruit wines within our local community?

Please let us know and express interest by commenting below.

We have been making mead for about the last year for personal consumption. We have also been approached by a few close friends and family as we have tasted our product at special functions. It is sweet and mellow with no bad after taste. With expressions of caramel and honey it is delicately floral and woodsy.

Our usual brew comes to around 9% alcohol and takes about 6 months to mature. if we get enough interest there will be a significant wait but I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
