A very very calm and warm welcome to Flip (aka Nyala) , who we are fostering for The Yellow Door - Rescue and Rehoming, who we are so grateful to!

Flip is a 3 yr old border collie x entire girl, from a situation where 67 dogs were in one home. Many are extremely underweight, some anaemic, and all riddled with worms.

Flip is one of the most shut down and nervous of the dogs, so we’ll take things very slow.

She won’t meet our rambunctious Aussies, Hugo and Netti, for a few days, as she deserves a peaceful decompress.

So looking forward to seeing her grow in confidence, and eventually meet all our sanctuary volunteers, residents & eventually mix with visitors too 💜💜💜

Hay SCAMMER warning. PLEASE double check who you are buying hay from.

We’ve had a dear friend, who runs another incredible charity, scammed in the order of thousands of dollars, by this “group”, whose admin changes his/her profile details regularly.

Please only buy through people you personally know, or have purchased from them before, and/or are directly referred to you by a TRUSTED person.

Also REPORT fake pages and profiles, as the profile below added 62 new members in the last week.

If you are on thet page, please check who are murusl friends in the group, and warn them.

Seeking feedout volunteers for this cold Winter!

If you are keen to put on your Winter Woolies, and do some amazing work at our sanctuary, we have a few spots available for morning or afternoon feedout.

Contact our coordinator, Courtney, on 0460 968 433, for a chat. Courtney is a volunteer, so please give her a day or two to respond.

💐 Such a difficult time of late 💐

Late yesterday afternoon, dear aged little bloke, WH Spotty, was laid to rest.

Spotty came into care three years ago, and forged a strong friendship with fellow aged special needs boy, WH Chuckie.

Both boys journey/ed with health issues, requiring a quieter life than out with the mini herd.

They really got along well, just being separated at feed time, with their special dietary requirements seen to.

Spotty journeyed with laminitis and Cushings, and had some increases in his meds, over time, after regular blood testing.

Despite best care practices, it was time to let this brave boy go.

We are all devastated, and having lost now three beautiful equines, in only a few weeks, we need to ground, reflect and restore.

RIP dear little man. So very loved. 💜💜💜

Nearly the EOFY!

We would so appreciate financial support, to help us continue the work we do, to provide sanctuary for horses, ponies, goats, sheep, alpacas, a few roosters and ducks, and some beautiful cats.

We’ve just purchased $8800 worth of round bales (that’s 44 delicious rolls) to top up our supply, and all donations of $2 or more, are tax deductible.

Shoot us a message if you need a tax receipt, and use your name as reference, if donating straight into our bank account (details in photos).

We were very blessed with a very sunny Winter’s day today, to take delivery of 68 round bales, with thanks to Preet, the driver, and huge thanks to dear friend Mel, at Mishlo Pet Services, for coordinating a beautiful bunch of women, to pull together to order a full B Double load!

44 rounds top us up for the season, and the rest are being loaded up with their respective owners, with our tractor.

I’m relieved there’s no rain due on the weekend, as I’ll need to relocate the rounds, into “end to end” formation, reducing risk of weather damage. Oh for a hay shed!

What a massive day today! Huge thanks to all our volunteers, most of whom worked from early morning, right through the afternoon!

We had hay delivered in a B double (will post separately about that mammoth effort), 13 sets of tootsies done by Len, our trimmer, Dr Alice assessing WH Spotty’s laminitis episode, and “swapsies” of paddocks for some of our equine crew.

Pictured below, is Len our trimmer, educating us all about hoof health. Thanks to Michelle, Nate, Steph, Kellie, Eva and Werner, for catching, relocating and holding horses/ponies, on top of doing feedout as well!
