We aren’t sitting on our laurels, we are as busy as ever, looking after our horses, ponies, sheep, goats, alpacas, cats, roosters, peafowl and pig!

Can you help us keep the sanctuary going?

We currently have an outstanding vet bill of $2017.80, which we need to clear before we can consider an operation that wee mini pony, WH Chuckie, is in need of.

Chuckie has suspected basal cell carcinoma on his sheath, and the vet hospital has kindly quoted $1000 to operate.

Other outstanding bills include our plumbing bill of $2181.72, which replaced our old water pump, which is responsible for getting water to every paddock at our sanctuary.

We are so grateful to recent donors, who enabled us to catch up on feed bills.

We are under pressure to pay the plumbing bill within 7 days, but are unable to do so, so are reaching out to our supporters, to help us through this difficult it period.

Update on foster girl, Nyala (the black zoomies girl in video), who we are caring for, through The Yellow Door - Rescue and Rehoming.

From not looking us in the eye, and twelve weeks of decompression, until we could get her outside, look at her now!

I’ve never been so happy to see zoomies! She’s the sweetest girl, happy as a lark, and we are so proud of her! 💜💜💜

Huge thanks, as always, to Dr Alice Curran, of Barwon Equine Hospital, for tending to two important sentients in care, today.

Dear WH Chuckie, mini pony, had his sheath tumour reassessed. Previously, due to his very low heart rate, surgery has not been an option.

Fortunately today, his heart rate is well within normal limits, so there’s a possibility that surgery could be back on the table. There’s a lot to consider, and the BEH team will assess the footage taken today, as to what is the best way forward.

🐓 Our lovely rooster, WH Axel, found himself caught hanging by his talon, a few days ago, and is having issues regaining full control of his lower leg. Dr Alice feels he may have nerve damage, so she fashioned a temporary splint for his foot.

After a few adjustments, Axel was able to hobble to his food tray, and let out a crow of approval.

WH Scout is putting a big call out for help, so we can pay our latest vet bill.

It’s $1615.60, and includes a top up of our veterinary medicines (Pergolide, Bute and Meloxicam).

Our resident animals rely on these meds, for arthritis and Cushings Disease treatment, and are ongoing in need.
