So I wanted to help you show them it’s just the year. And everything is going to be ok 🐕 🐈

There are 2 key focuses to manage New Year’s Eve fireworks fears.
1. Their SAFETY: Bring them inside. It’s the only way to prevent a runaway. And be ready for those pesky 9pm early fireworks 🎆
2. Their SANITY: Once they’re in, you can easily create a world where the bangs and crashes don’t send their heart racing and tail dropping 😴

Let’s talk about senior dogs!

As your beloved dogs age, they may be more prone to experiencing dry skin and various skin conditions, including yeast infections. To help keep them comfortable and healthy, regular grooming is essential. This not only helps prevent these issues but also allows us to identify and address any concerns as they arise.

It’s important to be mindful that older dogs may experience physical discomfort while moving. We as groomers will take the time to discover what makes your dog feel most comfortable during their grooming sessions. Many senior dogs may have joint stiffness or arthritis, so approaching grooming with patience and gentleness is crucial.

In between grooming appointments, regular brushing can be very beneficial. Since older dogs often find it difficult to stand for extended periods, consider brushing them gently while they are lying on their side, especially during their afternoon naps. If your dog appears restless, don’t hesitate to take a break and resume grooming once they’re more settled.

As dogs age, their skin may become more delicate, so it’s important to be gentle when brushing. Additionally, reduced vision and hearing in senior dogs can lead to increased anxiety during grooming.

Please remember that the primary focus of grooming for senior dogs at The Dawg Studio is their comfort rather than achieving a perfect appearance. Our groomers will prioritise your dog’s well-being, ensuring that they feel safe and relaxed throughout the process.

Dear Valued Clients,

We would like to inform you that we have reached full capacity for 2024. However, we are maintaining a waitlist for those interested. If you wish to be added to the waitlist, please contact The Studio via phone or email.

While we would love to accommodate everyone before Christmas, our current capacity does not allow for it. We encourage you to consider prebooking for the entirety of 2025 to secure your spot.

Priority on the waitlist will be given to existing clients and those introducing grooming to puppies.

If you’ve been to the QPRC pound facility recently we ask that you please contact our team asap so we can reshedule your appointment for 2 weeks time. Lets keep all our babas safe!

We have closed our Queanbeyan Animal Management Facility for the next two weeks following a positive test for canine parvovirus in a dog that was surrendered to the facility.

Canine parvovirus is a serious and often fatal viral disease that impacts unvaccinated puppies and dogs. It is highly contagious and can stay on surfaces and in environments for long periods. As such, the facility will close for the next two weeks while other dogs at the facility are tested and deep cleaning takes place.

Members of the community who have adopted a new dog in the past few days or have collected a roaming dog from the facility have been contacted.
