You may have noticed some new faces at the clinic over the last little while! Our little clinic has certainly grown recently ❤️

We have 3 new team members,
Georgia, Paige and Kayla are our newest nurses and we are so excited to have them join us…

You may notice them standing by the longterm nurses, particularly at admissions and discharges while they are learning the ropes!

We ask that you please be patient and kind while they are learning how to use the phone and computer systems (it is a lot to take in!) 😃

Please say hello and make them feel welcome if you meet them.

And a note about all staff members, please never be rude or abusive towards us, we are all doing our best in what can be some very trying times.🙏

Thank you so much to all our wonderful clients, we appreciate you!

🐾 Tick Season Alert! 🐾

Since the beginning of spring, our team has treated multiple cases with 4 most recent in the last two days. Ticks aren’t just a nuisance—they can be life-threatening.

Paralysis ticks can cause:
✅ Wobbly back legs
✅ Vomiting or loss of appetite
✅ Difficulty breathing
✅ Weakness or collapse

Ticks can hitch a ride into your home on shoes, clothing, and even items brought in from outside. Tick populations are spreading into new regions so if you notice any of these symptoms, seek vet care immediately. Early treatment can save your pet’s lives!

We know budgets can be tight, so we offer single-purchase tick prevention options to help keep your pet safe, one month at a time.

Today, with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our beloved clinic cat, Jasper 🐾

Jasper wasn't just a pet — he was a fixture in our lives and in the clinic, a calming presence in the busiest of days, and a source of comfort, laughter, and warmth to everyone who crossed his path. Whether he was supervising reception from the front desk, curling up in the sunniest spot he could find in his outside area, or offering a gentle headbutt to someone who needed it, Jasper made our clinic feel like home.

Over the past few weeks, we watched as Jasper’s health gradually declined. We did everything we could to keep him comfortable and happy, and he faced his final days with the same gentle spirit and quiet strength that made him so special to us all.

Letting him go was one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make — but we did it with love, surrounded by the team who adored him.

Jasper, thank you for the years of companionship, your unwavering patience, and your ability to make even the toughest days a little brighter. You will always be a part of this place and forever in our hearts.
Rest easy, sweet boy. 💛🐾

Bill has just left to be with Dr Jeff Titmarsh in his home so he is not alone (on a trial run) - will update on how it goes in a few weeks!

Happy birthday Jeff we hope you have a great one and enjoying your well earned retirement love your work family 💕🥳

⚠️ PARALYSIS TICK ALERT – RAYMOND TERRACE AREA ⚠️

We've had a recent spike in Paralysis tick cases in local pets here at the clinic. Spring is in full swing, we urge all pet owners in the Raymond Terrace area to be extra cautious—especially if your pets are spending time outdoors.

🐾 COMMON SIGNS OF TICK PARALYSIS IN PETS:
Weakness or wobbliness in the back legs
Vomiting or loss of appetite
Difficulty breathing
Change in bark or meow
Lethargy or collapse

Early detection and treatment are critical—tick paralysis can be fatal if not treated promptly.

✅ TICK PREVENTION TIPS FOR PETS:
Use vet-approved tick preventatives (spot-ons, collars, or oral treatments)
Check your pet daily, especially around the neck, ears, and between toes
Keep grass and garden areas short and tidy
Avoid walking dogs through long grass or bush tracks
Keep up with regular vet checks, especially during tick season

We're incredibly excited to welcome a true power couple to the Raymond Terrace Vet Clinic family - Dr Elle Deane and Dr Lachlan Mitchell!

Fresh from graduating together, Elle and Lachlan are ready to bring their knowledge, passion, and energy to our team.

Dr Elle Deane is joining us full-time, working four days a week, and is already diving into clinic life with enthusiasm and care.
Dr Lachlan Mitchell will be working part-time at the clinic from September, while continuing his large animal veterinary work in Dubbo - balancing both worlds.

We're thrilled to have them on board and can't wait to see the impact they will have on our team and clients.
