Trick 1- spin/twist
This trick is very simple to teach, start by having your dog stand in front of you. (Make sure they are standing, as it’s easier). Put the treat in the palm of your hand or between your fingers and cup the hand (as shown in video). Put the treat hand in front of dogs nose and lure in a large circle, bending there head to the bottom of the bum. Dogs will do one way better than the other so try both ways. Show us your skills!
When out of the house, it’s very important that your pup listens to your commands so they don’t get into trouble. At Canine Club QLD we teach your pup that when they are told a command they are to stay in that command till released. This is max, showing us how it’s done with small distractions, isn’t he a good boy.
Max has come so far, from tugging on lead to now being confidently walking on a loose lead next to my side. So pleased with his progress. #canineclubqld #labradorlife #dogtraining
Big Boy Jet has come so far in his training and I just wanted to share this new trick he learnt today. He’s such a smart boy. His eyes might be bigger then his belly but he now knows if he waits, good things come. Check back in soon to see other dogs and their journeys. #lablife #labrador #caninetricks #canineclubqld
Shadow inspecting the new tripod to make sure it’s up to company standards. Hoping to be able to now gathering more useable footage for clients and those who follow the page. #canineclubqld #kelpielife #dogtraining #dogwalking
Little holly’s second training session. Her mum has been saying she pulls a lot of lead so we focused on teaching pressure and release as well as some heel work. She’s a quick learner. So cute and fluffy. #bordercollie #canineclubqld #trainingpups
Positive verbal communication goes along way when training. Little ej here at the beginning of the week was pulling my arm off but now he’s figured out that the walk is a lot more enjoyable on a loose leash in front or next to me. He’s such a smart boy and I really enjoyed working with this little Cutie.
Doing some training with a family of two border collies this afternoon. They wanted a few tips on a few things but the main one was loose leash walking and reactivity work. Look how attentive this little boy is. So beautiful.
