๐Ÿพโœจ Holiday Reminder: Check your petโ€™s microchip details!

With the busy festive season approaching โ€” visitors coming and going, travel plans, and open doors - itโ€™s more common than youโ€™d think for pets to accidentally wander off.

A microchip is your petโ€™s permanent ID, but it only works if the details are up to date! ๐Ÿ’ก
โœ… Make sure your phone number, address, and email are current on your petโ€™s microchip record.
โœ… If youโ€™ve moved house or changed contact details this year, nowโ€™s the time to update them.
โœ… Not sure where your petโ€™s microchip is registered? Your vet can help you check or scan it.

A few minutes of checking could make all the difference if your pet ever goes missing. ๐Ÿ’•

Hello December ๐Ÿ‘‹๐ŸŽ„

As we welcome in the start of summer and decorating your home for Christmas, here are a few pet-safe decorating tips to keep tails wagging and whiskers happy:

โœจ Avoid low-hanging tinsel, baubles, and small ornaments that curious pets might chew or swallow
๐ŸŒฟ Keep festive plants like lilies, poinsettias, and holly out of reach as they can be toxic to pets
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Secure electrical cords and keep candles up high
๐ŸŽ Choose sturdy, pet-safe decorations if your furry friend likes to โ€œhelpโ€ with the tree!

Signs of heatstroke may include heavy panting, excessive drooling, distress, difficulty breathing, increased body temperature, weakness, seizures, and unconsciousness. Please contact your vet urgently if you recognise these symptoms. ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿฅต

The Clinic by the Beach

Our friendly, compassionate veterinarians and nurses have been treating local cats and dogs in our current location since 1987, though our practice has been established for a much longer time prior to this. The clinic was owned by Pat for many years and then was bought by Maris Eastgate who worked for Pat before taking over as principle veterinarian and owner in 2003.
