You hear doctors and medical professionals talk about how important it is for us humans to get in some sort of physical activity daily for many health benefits, but do you ever hear them talk about how important walking and physical exercise is for your dog?
Your answer is most likely going to be a NO, because I know I have barely ever, heard anyone talk about the importance of physical exercise in our dogs. The benefits are very similar for both us humans and dogs. 🐾
Here are just some benefits of dogs getting physical activity;
1) 𝑮𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒖𝒑 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉-𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏:
For dogs, socialization begins at an early age. By the age of 16 weeks, puppies who have been socialized successfully tend to be less apprehensive and less prone to engage in fear-based aggression. A puppy that goes for walks on a regular basis is much more likely to feel at ease and be happier in general. 🐾
2) 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒈'𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒙𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚:
It's common knowledge that dogs can feel anxious. This only gets worse if a dog is confined inside with no stimulation. By taking your dog/us taking you dog on an exciting daily adventure, you can prevent boredom and destructive tendencies. They can explore and expend pent-up energy by going on a lengthy loop around the neighborhood, which will help them unwind. 🐾
3)𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒋𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒔:
The greatest approach for dogs to maintain their fitness is through frequent walks. Walking keeps a dog's joints healthy and helps with obesity. Exercise on a regular basis might help your dog avoid common joint diseases like hip dysplasia and arthritis. Walking encourages heart health and can even aid in the prevention of major conditions like cardiovascular disease. 🐾
4) 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚:
When a dog is confined inside all the time, they frequently show aversion to change and become less adaptable. Dogs must be taken on walks on a regular basis to learn, thus this is essential. They won't be able to distinguish between various smells if they don't have the opportunity to explore or discover new sounds or smells. 🐾
Of course, there are many, MANY more benefits of physical exercise in dogs, but above are just some examples. Can you imagine if you were just left at home all day and never went out? It wouldn't be nice.
Contact us today to book in so we can take your dog out whilst you are out and he/she can get some physical exercise 😀🐾
