Koorootang Shetland Stud has been breeding and showing successfully for over thirty-five years. The stud commenced with the purchase for one of our sons.

A chestnut c**t foal, Laguna Red Diamond, who later became a very versatile gelding. He was shown extensively in led, saddle and harness classes, competed at pony club, raced in steeple chases, and paraded at Warana processions. "Red" passed away a few years ago, after a number of years spent in peaceful, well earned retirement. For many years Koorootang was a predominantly grey stud with Loch Lom

ond bloodlines. Koorootang's grey show team of the 1980's - Nacona Juanita, Nacona Anita and Nacona Navy-Blue were well known in Shetland circles in Queensland. Their dam was Nacona Anette and their sire Loch Lomond Clyde. The Shetland Pony Owners and Breeders Society of Queensland's trophy for Most Successful Pony for the Year was won by Nacona Anita in 1982 and by Nacona Juanita in 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1986. In 1987, with a c**t foal at foot, Juanita was judged Supreme Shetland Pony Exhibit at the Royal Queensland Show. She was a consistent Champion in the led classes and she and her sister Anita were also good harness and saddle ponies. Over the years they and their full brother, Navy-Blue, all won Supreme ribbons. We have shown Koorootang ponies almost exclusively for a very long time now and with the acquisition of a black stallion, Koolangatha Juniper (sire Wells Vintage Imp.) and later, Koolangatha Powit (same sire) the tide turned and our show team today is predominantly black.

Extended tray 23’ with 12’ horse space & 11’ living area.
Towbar. Hydraulic ramp. Both fresh water and grey water tanks.
Overhead rug rack.
Sprayed rubber floor in horse area and on tailgate.
7 lockable and easily accessible storage bins on the outside of the truck, one fitted with a saddle rack & bridle hooks.
8 pop up vents in horse area plus sliding windows. All windows and living area door have screens.
Tie up rings run down both sides of the truck.
Horse area is set up with adjustable width and divider heights meaning it can accommodate 6 Shetlands/small Ponies or 5 larger Horses.
Feed bins along head side.
Interior lights and ramp light.
Full access door from living area to horse area.
Two cameras, one shows horses and the other at rear.
12v & 240V lights.
Awning.
Driving cab has three seats with suspension seat for driver (saves a numb bum).
Living area has folding step in side of truck to enter. Double bed in Luton’s Peak with ladder plus two single bunks (seat back folds up).
Large fridge with freezer top 240v, 12V or gas.
Air Conditioning.
Microwave.
Gas stove.
Shower & toilet with hand basin.
Gas Hot Water System. Two gas bottles.

Kitchen comes set up with cutlery, plates, mugs, electric jug, toaster, saucepans, pan etc and some bedding and linen is also there. Water has mains connection or electric pump. Numerous cupboards for kitchen, clothes and other uses. Old analogue TV with desktop convertor & DVD player connected. I couldn’t find a suitably sized new TV.

We’re excited to announce this lovely gelding has been sold to a riding school in Brisbane 💗
He joins his cousin, Koorootang Fantasy and they have great plans to use him, alongside “Fanta” for their little rider lessons 🤩.

Koorootang Sensation, affectionately known here as ‘Cotton’ is an 8yr old APSB registered Shetland Pony Gelding standing approx 9.3-10hh.

He was started under-saddle in May-June and is now looking for a home where he can spend time with a capable little rider who is looking to add a nice shetty to their show/pony club team!

Soon to be in summer coat, this gorgeous gelding has what it takes, with the right rider, to go to the top!

We thought we’d found the perfect home for him, but after following up a few times with no reply, we thought we’d better readvertise (however if still interested, please reach out 😉)

As he is only recently started undersaddle, we are not looking for enquiries from green riders please.

This boy is a lovely compact 14yo stallion standing approx 9.1-9.2hh. Commander is well traveled and very well handled having been in our show team for many years. He'll self-load and is easy to wash/stable/rug etc having been prepped for many many shows over the years.

With his deep body, good bone and a lovely head with a kind eye, he is producing lovely foals. He has 5 foals on the ground (and would have likely been used a lot more had our stud not been looking to disperse all breeding stock).
