Littlewood Berry Farm

Littlewood Farm is home to the pick-your-own Littlewood Berry Farm, Littlewood Lamb and Jam Gin. Sunflowers will start hopefully around February.

We're located on the road to Richmond in the heart of the Coal River Valley, Tasmania. Littlewood Farm is home to our pick-your-own strawberry patch, Littlewood Lamb and our Jam Gin and Liqueur. We have mixed open hours due to fruit availability and weather conditions so please always check before coming to avoid disappointment although we keep google hours and Facebook updated religiously around

open hours. Entry fee is $8 per person over the age of 2. For every person who pays an entry fee they receive a 'patch penny' that has a credit of $6 that can be redeemed on the day at farm shop to spend on ice-creams, coffee, pick your own or pre picked strawberries etc. If you wish to keep the patch penny as a memento of your visit you are more then welcome to but you cannot redeem the $6 credit. We provide all punnets and containers but if you want to pick large quantities we have scales so you are more than welcome to bring your own bucket. We can be very busy and get picked out very early so please always be prepared to venture out early. Thank you for supporting a small business in the heart of the Coal Valley and we hope you enjoy the experience of picking fresh produce. Eftpos is available and if you are just purchasing from our coffee van or shop there is no entry fee but you cannot enter the seating area or facilities without paying an entry fee.

***IF YOU ARE PLANNING A VISIT READ CAREFULLY***
no matter our open hours if you wish to go strawberry picking you must get in early as we CANNOT guarantee fruit when you arrive as we never know how busy we will be.
This weekend is bringing some pretty warm weather and we do not know how much longer the sunflowers will last. They are in full bloom currently so don't miss out. Everything you need to know about this weekend below:
- Please just park in the car spots allocated, not down the side of the drive, we are still a working farm and traffic needs to still be able to flow, if the carpark is full please try and come back or drop people off at the hut, turn around then resume trying to find a park.
- unsocial and rude behaviour towards any staff of mine at any point is not tolerated, we apologise if we don't have what you are after, but if your after something in particular please get there as close to opening as possible to avoid disappointment.
- $8 entry per person over the age of 2 years old with a $6 credit per person.
- no dogs/pets are allowed in the grounds or at the hut, they must stay with your vehicle please unless a guide or service dog.

Although this has been one of the worst growing seasons in 15 years of running this business, we will have heaps of different strawberry and other products you can taste and purchase if we run out of fruit. To help support us, pay an entry fee, use your credit to buy and icecream, visit the pet sheep and have family photos in the sunflowers. Hope to see you all tomorrow! Xx

THURSDAY 30 th Jan
Unfortunately, we will be closed due to not enough ripe fruit to open our picking fields or to even have pre-picked .
Our staff are doing an amazing job of helping get the plants back on track but mother nature is making this one of the hardest seasons we have seen in 15 years.
We will be open Saturday so please keep an eye out for updates regarding what we will have available on the day.

TUESDAY 28TH update
Hello all, although the weather hasn't been perfect our morning has been just as busy as a Saturday which has been amazing! Thank you so much everyone for your on going support at a time of rough weather and limited fruit. We have had 3 different fields open for picking today and they have all been PICKED OUT!
Yes we are open till 4 for sunflowers, pre picked strawberries, hot and cold drinks and all our other treats but our picking fields are closed for the remainder of the day due to all the ripe fruit being picked by lovely customers this morning.
We do remind customers that due to these busy times we ask you to come as early as possible if you wish to go just go strawberry picking as we never know how busy we will be and cannot always guarantee strawberries for picking for a full day.

Sorry for the delay in a post but
after the 37 degree heat today out here 🥵 the patch has faired well with constant waterings throughout the day.
Please to say we are open for sunflowers and Strawberry picking!
Please be mindful after the watering there maybe some wet spots so wear appropriate shoes, unfortunately we won't have any lamb pies for Tuesday.
But we will have plenty of everything else!!
Don't forget to get your coffee at littlewood to kick start your morning before going picking and finish it all with an icecream

What a weekend this is looking to be!
Our sunflowers are in full bloom and we FINALLY have strawberries for picking!
If you wish to pick strawberries get in early as we never know how busy we will be and cannot guarantee there will be strawberries to pick by the time you choose to arrive.
We will also have Hayden's spray free blueberries, lamb pies, hot and cold drinks, icecreams and more.
So come on down to Littlewood and get some amazing photos and have a great time with the family.

Reminder: every single person over the age of 2 must pay an entry fee of $8 to enter which gives you a $6 patch penny to spend on strawberry picking, anything at the hut and coffee van. No refunds, no exceptions.

Tuesday 9.30 til 4
Saturday 9.30 til 4 at this stage.
$8 entry fee into the grounds past the coffee van with a $6/credit.
No pick your own Tuesday!
Saturday -unsure at this stage
- We will have lots of pre-picked strawberries (until sold out) ($16/kg)
- spray and chemical free blueberries ! Yummo ($6/200g)
- sunflower fields and pre-picked sun flowers ($4/stem)
- pinkeyes ($6/kg)
- coffee, icecream, lamb pies, cookies, strawberry gin.
Our fields are still on a very slow mend and although 'yes', some fields ARE producing fruit for picking but we have a lot of vacation care groups that have been booked in for months that we need to cater for and we don't want to dissappoint the kids. This also gives us a good opportunity to keep monitoring the plants through flowering to help get the plants flowers to fruit which take 30 days.
We thank you all for your patience at this very trying and testing time
But we do urge you to come and enjoy everything else we have to offer. Xx

- organic blueberries! $6/200g
Also sunflowers.... no pre-picked this weekend whilst they are starting to bloom, viewing only for the flowers!
Ice creams, coffee, lamb pies, jam, gin, liqueur, sunflowers key chains.
Littlewood is where to be this Saturday morning for some great photo opportunities and family bonding over an icecream and coffee at the patch.
Our sunflowers are JUST starting to bloom so REMINDER there is an $8 entry fee for everyone over the age of 2 year to enter the grounds, this gives you a patch penny which has a $6 credit to spend at our store or you can keep the coin as a momento and NOT redeem the credit.
If you are just purchasing from our shop there is no entry fee.

EVERYONE must pay this entry fee and if you do not wish to pay it we are sorry you are not allowed to enter past the hut to use the grounds or facilities.
Rude behaviour towards staff or other customers will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the premises immediately as no one in customer service deserves this treatment.

It is going to be a warm one again before more forcasted rain!
Open for picking (get in as early as possible) 9.30 till 2pm.
We will havethe amazing Little Bean Coffee van onsite with hot and cold drinks so hold your caffeine buzz till 9.30, as well as all our usual treats. So get in while our pre-picked strawberries last, Littlewood lamb pies and then treat yourself to an icecream or sorbet made from our strawberries. See you tomorrow xx

CLOSED THURSDAY 9TH January
Due to the slow ripening and lack of ripe fruit, we will not be opening to the general public tomorrow.
It is very hard to make this decision but it is also very hard to open and let customers down.
Our plants are making a (very slow) come back after the poor weather, but when they do I'm sure we will have so many strawberries we won't know what to do! So please stay tuned for any updates on the next upcoming open days. Sorry for any inconvenience

Hello everyone. OPEN SATURDAY 6TH JAN 9.30-4 PLEASE NOTE: ---pick your own fields closed--- Our new flush of fruit is so close but it just won't seem to get enough sunshine before Saturday, this means all our strawberries are still green or half ripe. So we please encourage and ask local families and friends to please still support us at this low fruit time and maybe get a coffee, littlewood lamb pie and icecreams with your little ones, or even bring your own picnics and meet friends to enjoy our space. This last month has been a very tough one on the farm with losing a whole flowering which put us 3 weeks behind in fruit. So even just popping in for an icecream or coffee will still mean the world for us xx

A huge friendly reminder we are OPEN this Tuesday and Thursday 9.30 till 4pm We have HEAPS AND HEAPS of strawberries available for picking! All our other tasty treats are also available so please come and pay us a visit! Xx

Our Story

Littlewood Berry Farm is a family friendly experience offering strawberry picking, amazing coffee from Little Bean Coffee Van (most days), ice creams made by Valhalla from our won and also local fruits, our own range of Gin and Liqueur, home made Jams and sauces and an arrange of other local produce. We have no entry fee to the patch, but our moto and what we stand by is: 'Pay for what you pick and respect the patch' Strawberries are $12/kg but you pay for what you pick. We provide all punnets and containers but if you want to pick a few more we have scales so you are more than welcome to bring a bucket :) All our fruit is Chemical and Spray free, so we work very hard to make sure our plants stay healthy and happy, just like our customers.

We allow birthday parties and smalls functions, so if yout wish to organise something please feel free to call and we will try organise something for you.

We also have our new function space ‘The Old Orchard’ which can be hired for hen’s parties, birthday parties , or any event for 20+ people. Thank you for supporting a small business in the heart of the Coal Valley and we hope you enjoy the experience of picking fresh produce :)
