This week, our adorable puppy preschool class completed their journey with flying colors! Over the past four weeks, we’ve had an amazing time learning new commands, socializing, and preparing our furry friends for their new adventures. 🐶✨

It’s been a joy watching these puppies grow and thrive, and we’re incredibly proud of all the progress they’ve made. A big shoutout to our dedicated new puppy owners for their support and enthusiasm!

Enrolments are OPEN for our SEPTEMBER puppy preschool class!

If your puppy is between the ages of 8 weeks old and 14 weeks old during the time of the next intake and you feel as though your new friend could benefit from social interactions and learning new behaviour skills then this could be for you!

September classes run on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm-7.30pm which includes 4 group sessions for you to attend throughout the month.

Our class caters for all types of breeds big and small to give your friend the social skills to interact with all different furry friends, classes are set at a maximum of 6 puppies per class intake.

You will learn obedience skills, social skills, new tricks, not to mention the floor is open for any questions or concerns that our friendly trainers can help you with if you are focusing on particular skills at home.

The final week includes a clinic tour of our surgical hospital area and to top it off a happy graduation photoshoot, your furry friend will gain a certificate along with a goodie bag to take home!

It is with a heavy heart that we share some sad news. A deceased cat was brought into our care on Tuesday evening on the 20th of August, and we are now hoping to reunite him with his family. He is an unneutered male with black fur.

Lilli is one of our amazing vet liaisons.

Recently, she ventured on an eighteen-day experience of a lifetime to South Africa. Her team travelled all over, visiting around five provinces and were lucky enough to be involved in many different areas of veterinary work.
Klerksdorp is the rhino conservation park where Lilli had the privilege of camping under the stars. Here she was lucky enough to feed the rhinos in the orphanage, as well as translocate three rhinos and a calf. Then she went to Durban for an evening of culture with all the delegates. Food and drink were brought from countries all over the world including: the USA, Canada, Austria, Cyprus, Taiwan, just to name a few. Her team then headed out to the east coast of Africa and had an incredible experience shark cage diving with black tip reef sharks. Then they had the opportunity to go to uShaka Marine World where they went behind the scenes, learning how to safeguard ocean habitats.
From game driving through Isimangaliso’s wetlands to partaking in a sunset cruise through the St Lucia river where many hippos where spotted. The team then headed to the Hoedspruit endangered species centre and learnt about their efforts to protect endangered wildlife. Kruger national park was their next stop where they were greeted with giraffes and elephants. The next morning gestured an incredible experience of immobilisation of a wild elephant in the Kruger national park. The vets showcased basic data collection and allowed hands on vet work with such an amazing creature. They were also very lucky to attend lectures underscoring the critical role of communities in conservation; the importance of sustaining the natural wildlife.
She had one last game drive through Kroger national park where she saw a gorgeous pride of lions and a leopard in the distance. Ticking of the big 5 !
Overall, her experience was nothing short of extraordinary and it was such a privilege.

I’ve been around animals my entire life and decided to enter the Veterinary industry in 2022 and here I am at Ripley Veterinary Hospital as a full-time vet nurse.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me at home enjoying whatever arts and crafts that I’m obsessed with at the time, most recently I’ve been working on some cross-stitches. 🧵🧶

While here at Ripley vet, I’m working towards getting my qualifications and becoming a friendly face for all our furry friends. I’m really excited to see where this role takes me! 🐾
