Capricorn Animal Aid Organisation (CAA) is an organisation meeting the needs of abandoned & unwanted dogs & cats in the Rockhampton, Central QLD area for over 20 years CAA does not have a shelter or shop you can visit. All animals are 'fostered' by generous and caring volunteers who provide a home and lots of love to the animals in their care until they find new human companions to share their liv

es with. Potential adopters and their adoptive environments are assessed to ensure the animal will live out its life as a well cared for and loved member of the household.

✨An important message for Christmas! 🎁

We are not saying we should keep pets off the list.
The key thing to avoid is a ‘SURPRISE’ pet as a gift.
Adding a pet to a household is a joyous time and fills our hearts but there’s also a lot of work to do, a lot of money to be spent and a lot of sacrifices to be made especially if it’s a young animal.
Please share this message far and wide!!

Meet BLIK, a soft-natured sweetie who enjoys lots of cuddles and does a happy dance after his meals and treats. This beautiful boy can sit, shake, and walk well on and off lead. He loves to play fetch and tug of war and gets along tremendously with his furry foster dog brother and sister.

Therefore, BLIK would love the company of another furry companion. As BLIK is still young and is a mix of working dog breeds, he would benefit from a household that can provide him with regular playtime and stimulation. BLIK is untested with cats and kids.

Meet BUDDY, a super happy and playful puppy (at almost two, he is still convinced that he’s “just a baby”), with so much love to give.

BUDDY has some training but would benefit from a family who is happy to continue this. He is super eager to please and learn. BUDDY loves his people and just wants to be with them, so would love having someone around most of the time. He loves toys but needs tough ones, as he loves to chew.

BUDDY isn't suited to cats but will most likely thrive with another dog friend, having lived up with a playmate! He's also grown up with kids ranging from 1-10 years old and adores them. BUDDY will need a high fence to limit his Houdini-like skills but hopefully with ome TLC and training he will grow out of that.

If you're looking for a super loving energetic companion, then BUDDY is the one for you!

Assisted rehoming is an opportunity for CAA to assist owners needing to rehome their pet in the absence of an available foster home.

Upon successful adoption through CAA, we will ensure the dog is:

Meet Skeeta!

Skeeta is a likeable, cheeky, and fun-loving boy who gets along well with other dogs. He would thrive in a home with a doggy mate to run and play with.

He’s okay with cats but has a tendency to chase if they run, so a home with confident, dog-savvy cats would be best. Skeeta can sometimes feel a bit anxious, but with patience and companionship, he’ll settle right in.

This little guy is full of personality and energy, so he’ll need a secure yard to keep him safe, as he does have a knack for trying to escape.

Skeeta is eager to learn and would benefit from someone who can spend time helping him with basic commands. He’s a wonderful dog ready to bring lots of joy to a family who can give him the love and structure he needs.

CHYME is a stunningly elegant black cat with a silky smooth coat. However, she has trust issues and is cautious around new people. It may take her some time to feel comfortable in her new home, but once she does, she will thrive in a quiet and calm environment. CHYME is not a lap cat, but she loves sleeping on the bed and will appreciate having a cozy spot to call her own. Coming from a multicat household, she will get along with others but happy to be by herself. As she grows to trust her new owner, she will come out of her shell and show affection by seeking pats and head butts. However, CHYME startles easily and needs gentle and patient handling. But don't worry, she is already litter trained and ready to be a loving and loyal companion.

🚨 Summer Safety for your Pets In CQ 🚨 Please never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle. It is against the law and can lead to terrible suffering and death. Temperatures in a car can double within 20 minutes! ☀️Cracking a window or parking in the shade do very little to help ☀️ Elderly, overweight and short muzzled dogs are at a higher risk ☀️A dog tied to a Ute tray with no access to shade and water can suffer terribly and die within 20 minutes ☀️Similarly a dog tied in a yard with no access to shade and water can also suffer and die This behaviour could be an offence under the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 especially if your pet suffers heat stress or dies.
