The new lids for my tanks are black egg crates that came in 15cmx30cm pieces. They lock together but not securely enough, so today I used a lot of small black zippy ties and constructed lids for my 5ft, 4 ft and two 2ft tanks. Here is a show and tell vid.

A bit stuck
Large male Mystery snail cannot fit through all gaps anymore.
My big male snails try to push through obstacles in the tank. I have seen them try to lift drift wood or scrape through a gap between rocks too narrow for them to fit. I guess that just because their snout fits through they think the rest can, meaning their shell, as well. They will get bumps and scratches just by being a snail. I won’t remove anything in the tank because they would be left with bareness if I did. ❤️🐌

First batch of Blue Moscow Guppy are now juvenile and starting to colour up and show gender. Quite a few males. The 3 parent females have each had fry. I started with 3 pairs of adult Blue Moscows. Now have about 40 altogether .❤️🐟
Could sit and watch these beautiful creatures interacting with each other all day.
I have an all male mystery snail tank and they are very energetic. They have wrestling matches, chase each other and get on top of each others shells for a free ride around the tank. They even steer by leaning in the direction they want to go. Then 4 of them will gang up on another male and all pile on top of him like a quad decker snail ride. Tomorrow it will be a different male on the bottom. They hang on and toss and I see them biting to get their own way. Sometimes I have to break them up and place them at opposite ends of the tank. ( 4ft tank with lots of obstacles) Crazy snails. I feel like a snail referee. ❤️🐌
Finally had a go at making Snello. I tweeked the recipe to what I have at home. Only had to buy baby food and gelatine. It’s a big hit. 😉❤️🐌
So it ended up as:
Ix squeezey packet of organic baby food. (Carrot, sweet potato and barley)
Ix satchet of gelatine
1tbls of soaked Hikari fish pellets
1tbls of soaked turtle pellets
1tbls of powdered spirulina gold fishfood flakes.
2 heaped tsp crushed dried bloodworm
1 tbls of powdered eggshells.
Heat baby food in a pyrex jug for 30 secs, stir then heat 30 secs again. Should be boiling hot.
Gradually mix in gelatine until well mixed and add other ingredients.
I poured into a rectangle cake pan with bake paper on bottom. Then put into fridge until set. Slice into thin sticks. Spread out onto the flatten bake paper on a tray and freeze. When frozen can throw into ziplock bag. Will double it next time. The entire tank community really likes it.
