Presenting Pink Mystery Snails:
It’s taken a while to get to this stage but finally I have a good colony of Pink Mystery Snails to keep breeding them true to form. Pink mystery snails have no stripes and come in beautiful shades of pink. Some are hot pink, soft pink and even lilac. They are stunning.

For relaxation, timeout and become uplifted, I sit and watch these beautiful captives. Entertaining for the mind and a good dose of admiration for my Mystery snails. Notice his te****le reaching for where he wants to go then after landing, his te****le checked out the cuttlefish bone. Getting information from his surroundings, how far away is the bottom and can I fit in a somersault landing? How much space is under the cuttle bone? ❤️🐌

The new lids for my tanks are black egg crates that came in 15cmx30cm pieces. They lock together but not securely enough, so today I used a lot of small black zippy ties and constructed lids for my 5ft, 4 ft and two 2ft tanks. Here is a show and tell vid.

Caught up with the owner of a very unique Mystery snail - the double footed gold girl aptly named ‘Split’ - to see how she is going. Split is living her best life and up to all the snaily antics that you would expect from a Mystery snail. She is quite a celebrity in my fb group called Mystery Snails Australia. Here she is :

Easy 4 ingredient Snello aka snail food.
High in Calcium, vitamins and protein. It is a smooth rubbery consistency, sinks, holds together and all tank inhabitants gobble it up.
The trick is to soak the gelatine in a small amount of cold water so all the gelatine crystals soak up the other ingredients. This is called ‘blooming’ the gelatin. Then slightly heat it by putting the gelatin bowl in a saucepan of hot water to become a liquid, then add to other ingredients.
Recipe: 4x110g bags of vegetable baby food
4x tbls of powdered Calcium
2x pkts or 2 tbls of Gelatine ( mix in 1/4 cup of water to bloom)
2x tbles of quality fish flakes. (Crushed in a ziplockbag)
Method: Bloom the gelatine for 5-10 mins in cold water.
Empty baby food into a heatproof bowl. Put fish flakes and calcium powder into a ziplock bag and crush the flakes while mixing together.
Add the calcium and flake mix to the baby food and stir in well.
After the gelatine has ‘bloomed’ sit it in a saucepan of hot water until melted into a liquid. ( never boil gelatine it will kill it)
Warm the baby food mix in a microwave, do not boil.
Gradually pour in the liquid gelatine stirring continuously.
Pour into moulds or a flat pan and put into fridge to set. (about 4hrs)
Then can put into freezer after removing from moulds or slicing.
Try it, easy and leave a comment on how it went. 🤗
