The good news is that if your pet was recently vaccinated, there’s a good chance that this lump is a harmless injection site reaction involving local inflammation where the vaccine was administered. These types of lumps generally resolve within a matter of weeks. 🐶💉

Why do apparently healthy pets still require a full health check with their vaccination? 🤔

Firstly, this is because we need to ensure that pets are well enough to receive a vaccination, i.e. they’re not showing obvious symptoms of an infectious or autoimmune illness that could make vaccination unsafe for them. 🩺

When life gets busy, it’s easy to accidentally lose track of healthcare schedules. ⏳

If your puppy becomes overdue for one of its early vaccinations (usually consisting of three consecutive vaccines at 6-8 weeks old, 10-12 weeks old, and 16+ weeks old), it’s best to consult our knowledgeable vets. 🐶💉

Is your cat a senior “kitizen” (eight years old or above?) 🐱✨

If your pet goes outdoors or into boarding facilities, it’s recommended to stick with a yearly vaccination schedule. However, even if they are kept completely indoors and never attend boarding, we still advise an annual health check 🩺 where we can detect common senior feline health issues such as:
✔️ Dental disease
✔️ Arthritis 🦴
✔️ Weight loss that could be suggestive of kidney disease, gut problems, or an overactive thyroid
